Nice, quiet campground nestled in a grove of cottonwood trees along Grasshopper Creek. As of May 2023, the fee is $24/night. Very clean pit toilets. This is part of Bannack State Park, which preserves the 1860s ghost town of Bannack. The Park staff are extremely knowledgeable. Definitely a neat place to spend a day or two to learn about Montana’s gold rush history!
This was a nice and quiet place to camp. It's within walking distance of Bannack ghost town. Unlike the vigilante campground, this one was empty in early June. There are vault toilets at each campground and picnic tables at each site.
