Horse Prairie Campground

Another great campground on Clark Canyon Reservoir. Several three sided shelters with fire rings, tables and reasonably level parking. There are pit toilets and a hand pump water station. This has arguably the best view of the lake and surrounding landscape. There is also easy access to the water. This is not as secluded as the sites on the south side, but the access is closer to the interstate if that's important to you. Verizon service is usable. There is an east and a west side to this campground. Much more room and pull- through on the east side for larger rigs.

FREE CAMPING! Stayed here for a few days in early September of 2022. Beautiful views and peaceful. There were fires in Idaho so it was a bit smoky. Made for beautiful moonrises and sunsets. A great stop for any Lewis & Clark enthusiasts as this is the site of Camp Fortunate and a makes for an excellent base camp to visit Lemhi Pass.

Found this campground on the RVLife app... a nice hidden treasure. Quiet and clean with a wonderful view of the Clark Dam and reservoir. Each designated spot has a shelter with a picnic table and a fire pit. Vault toilet available. There are more campgrounds around if this one is full.

Great place to setup camp for a few days. FREE! And free is always good. Sites have covered shelter and bathrooms are clean. Good base camp if you intend to go up to Lemhi Pass.

Love it! Great place to camp. Extremely clean vault toilets. Unimproved access to the reservoir from the camp ground. Each camp spot has an upgraded fire ring, picnic table and 12x12 roofed shelters with cement floors. I camp here every year. This weekend I actually seen horses at Horse Prairie! The reservoir in general in rich in Corps of Discovery history
