Riviera Motel

I was very impressed and surprised the staff first of all was very friendly, very professional the motel I ended up staying here because I ended up getting sleep on my way to traveling to Missouri from Florida and I tried seeing at a hotel but obviously at the time where I got tired, they didn’t have anything available so I thought all motels are usually dirty and what have you but I had no other choice again I was tired And so I said to my son OK you know this is the closest thing that seems to be open and have something available to my surprise it was extremely clean. The rooms were very updated. The beds were extremely comfortable. Everything was brand new so needless to say it was a very good experience and the prices were very reasonable so yeah I would definitely stay here then if I

I stayed at the Riviera Motel because I was looking for something cheap and I had arrived in town after dark. It was the first cheap-looking motel I saw. I was appropriately greeted at the front desk by a India lady. Their living quarters are ajacent to the lobby and it did smell of curry, not marijuana. The rate is $30 single plus tax. My assigned room was right next to the office. I found the room and bedding spotless. Plenty of clean towels. ||I did not need to shower but did notice there was no shower head on the pipe. TVs worked fine. There was no noise or any annoyances while I was there. ||I didn't see a phone in the room but do have a cell phone anyhow.||The room was well-lighted and appropriately furnished. We were so tired after driving for 19 days of our road trip to Arizona. The bed was very comfortable and would stay again. The room was clean and we really appreciate that. With pets allowed in rooms now it makes it harder to travel with allergies. This place gave me no problems with that.

This hotel is run very poorly. The walls are thin, you can hear every noise outside all night. If you want ice, be prepared to put a coin in the ice machine. The WIFI does not work. There are no phones in the room, so if you need to contact the office, you need to go there in person. I do not recommend this motel. Edit to add we had paid for 2 nights but since the wifi was not working they agreed to refund our second night. Then a week later, they charged us for the the second night anyway. Not happy!

So it's not the worst motel I've ever stayed at, but if we didn't need a place to sleep we never would have stayed there. The people running the place were not friendly. The brochure they have at the front desk has pictures of the Riviera from it's hay day, back in the 70s, which is probably the last time it was properly cleaned. The first thing I noticed about the room was the odor, it was so strong, the best way to describe it is a cross between bug spray and baby powder. Obvious roach spray is obvious. Then I found a long black hair on my pillow, another in the sheets. I slept with shoes on. The one plus is that no hookers knocked during the night.
