Riverview Hotel & Event Center

The best thing about this place is the proximity to downtown but its proximity to the homeless community takes away from that. Management is more concerned with the visitors a paying guest has than the homeless drug addicts that knock on doors at 4am to beg for change and the ones who sleep at the entrance to laundry. Staff is very unprofessional to say the least. Nosey as all get out. I have worked in hospitality specifically hotel management for 19 years and this place lacks all of it. Rooms are outdated elevators dont work, doors dont lock, bugs or rodents or both present. The only things good other than the location is the price but even than they want to charge u if u have a visitor. And I have never in my life told a guest nor had a manager tell me they dont want to talk when im tryi

The hotel is undergoing a renovation, so the room had brand new carpet and AC. Views of downtown from the hotel include Coleman Hill with the grand Woodruff House, around to the Terminal Station and Central City Park, basically all of the museum district. There was plenty of covered parking at the hotel, so it was great to park the car and be able to walk the 2 blocks to Cherry Street, where there are several local restaurants and clubs. Also, just one block from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. A great location to base a tour of the historic Macon architecture, as well as Rose Hill Cemetery. And only minutes from the famed H & H Restaurant, where Mama Louise serves the best meat and three in Macon, famous for nurturing the Allman Brothers Band during the

DO NOT trust this elaborate photo. The hotel was the place to be - BACK IN THE DAY! Elevator does not work (& hasn't for years) & rooms need big time upgrading! It is an ideal location for downtown workers with no transportation that can walk; bus station also in walking distance. A great deal of 'street life' in the area.

Nice size rooms but it could be more accommodating and upscale pretty safe management is nice and courtesy descent place to stay if you don't have a hold lot of money

It's ok for a couple of nights if you keep to yourself due to the fact that there seemed to be drug usage among some of the other guest. But if your on a tight budget the price is low. I would just recommend that you stay to yourselves and the other guests shouldn't be an issue. Or atleast it wasn't an issue for us.
