Rivers Edge Retreat

River Edge Retreat is a beautiful place! My husband and have enjoyed going for 5 years and we have never been disappointed. The rentals are very clean and have everything you need. Easy access to the river. Beautiful wildlife. Carlton & Laura are wonderful hosts and are very knowledgeable about the area. It is our family’s 6th summer in a row to visit this beautiful property, lovingly maintained by the wonderful owners, Carlton and Laura. There are several houses on the property, and we have stayed in two of them. Each house is immaculately clean and has everything we need in the kitchen to prepare meals. We love drinking our coffee on the back porch deck, the chairs by the fire pit, or the swing, each with a stunning view of the beautiful Guadalupe River and canyon. We love to visit in June or July, spending the mornings playing tennis, badminton, or basketball on the tennis courts, which also have great lights for night games. I highly recommend this place if you want to truly enjoy the river with a very serene feel. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the wildlife and easy river access. Also, the hosts are very accommodating and will assist you with anything you need, which I appreciated greatly. Give this place a try you won’t regret it!

We spent 10 days at this retreat. The hosts, Carlton & Laura are wonderful! The property is so peaceful and access to the Guadalupe River is fantastic. The Southwestern cabin is so comfortable and has everything you need for your stay! All the lovely trees provide shade. The cabin is very roomy and feels like home. Definitely a place that I would recommend to my friends and family. And a return stay is being planned!

My wife and I were so fortunate to have found Rivers Edge. Carlton and Laura are fantastic hosts and are truly great people. Deer roam the property, geese welcome you as you come and go, and friendly cats keep you great company. We have been coming to the river for a decade, and we feel as if we found our spot that we can always return to. The property goes right to the river. This is a special place. We will be back!
