Riverleaf Inn Mission Valley

Positive: The rate. Negative: The room was small, and there was a big enough gap in the door that allowed insects to crawl into our room. A few people in the parking lot appeared to be shooting up drugs. No amenities except for outdoor pool that closed at 8pm. Elevator was so slow!

Have been staying at Riverleaf for over 3 years now. It is my favorite budget friendly down to earth little hotel close to everything. It is simple but comfortable. Friendly and awesome staff. You can find very good deals online. I noticed that they did some remodeling and guest rooms have fresh paint and fresh appliances. New bedding, brand new towels, new mini fridge. Housekeeping is always on top. Staff is always happy and eager to help with any requests. Thank You River! Will be back soon!

I swear, This hotel was physically removed from Compton and placed in San Diego! This was by far the worst hotel my family and I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. The room smelled strongly of mold, and everything—from the walls to the floors—was visibly filthy. The smoke detector was covered with plastic, the refrigerator did not work, and the shower, along with the air-conditioning unit, was covered in black mold. After just one night, our socks and feet were black from how dirty the floors were. I did not feel safe staying there, especially being pregnant. When we checked out, I shared my concerns with the front desk employee and asked if he would allow his own family to stay there. He responded that he would have taken his

First time trying this place, and I definitely won't forget my experience here. Checking in the staff was very friendly and informative, yet not up to date or knowledgeable of their amenities. For example: I asked if they had a bathtub, Junior Fermin answered no just a shower. We got all checked in, parked our cars then as we walked back to the office, we saw 2 women practically naked running out of the stair well into their Uber. (Free entertainment) So we continued to the office to ask them if they had a microwave so I may pop my popcorn, Fermin said, "yes!" Headed to our room and decided to avoid the stair well and take the elevator. This elevator is on its last leg, definitely not safe. This place is so ghetto lol there’s no room light except the one by the night stand. Smells like pee from all the animals and people don’t pick up after them. I brought my dogs and was grateful they had baggies to make cleanup easier. Best thing about this place was the customer service. All the workers were super nice and helpful. I locked myself out a few times and they gave me a new key without any trouble. The hotel key cards also sucked though lol they got demagnetized everyday. The stair case had the plastic peeling off which is a hazard. No room service ever came to my room and I was there almost a week.
