Rifle Arch

I thoroughly enjoyed the Rifle Arch Trail. A few basic things to note: It's just shy of 3 miles long round trip. The elevation at the parking lot is about 5,883 feet. I believe the elevation at the arch is about 6,514 feet. So that's an elevation gain of 631 feet. If you hike until you reach the last bench (facing the arch from below) the trail isn't too difficult. It has sections that go uphill, downhill, and some easy flat sections. Just remember to take it slow during the uphill portions if you aren't acclimated to the altitude. If you want to hike/climb all the way to the Arch and stand directly beneath it, be prepared. You should have suitable footwear because you will be climbing/crawling over large boulders. The terrain is STEEP and there are many loose rocks. When you reach the

Pretty nice free trail, the last 100ft was pretty steep girlfriend didn't climb it, I thought about turning around a couple times but made it! There's a lot of other trails around also

Rifle Arch is very beautiful in the winter and summer. The trail is dog friendly. The trail is 2.8 miles to the arch and back to the parking area. There are some inclines, and it can be difficult in the snow and mud. Don't forget to pack plenty of sunscreen and water. I have hiked all the way to the arch when it was less snowy.

Rifle arch in winter. Awesome! A few muddy spots but easy enough to find a way through. By the time you reach the car it's all gone. If you follow foot tracks, it's easy to reach the arch. A little scrambling to get under it. Outstanding views for rifle.

Fantastic hike really impressive trails and the views and rock features are breathtaking! Very steep rock scramble to the Arch but well worth it.
