Customer Reviews
Each year I post an updated review. I attend San Diego Comic Con since 2005 and have stayed at RIG for 10+ years, including the hard Time of COVID. The staff is wonderful, hotel clean, hot buffet breakfast excellent. Talking about staff, the valets are quick and helpful getting your stuff out and into your vehicle. The Buffet staff, Paty, Rene, Rosie, Magni, and more are wonderful too. Monet at the front desk and Carissa the manager took care of my group's need (I book 5 rooms so it can get crazy, one of my gang is disabled). PS Be sure when you make a reservation that THIS LOCATION, Gaslamp, not the other San Diego one. Gaslamp is in walking distance to many places and public transportation. Only negative is the pool is a small square, but I still relax in it in the evening.
Positive: The cleanliness of the room was exceptional. I had the perfect stay for my first time in San Diego Negative: ""
Great location and very convenient for getting anywhere in San Diego. The rooms need better cleaning, and some rooms have a view of the AC units, which is not pleasant. The room layout is a bit unusual, but the excellent location makes it easy to access everything nearby.
I had a wonderful stay. The room is clean, and location is central. I can walk to the Trolley Station, or wander around Gaslamp district for food, or even walk to the Seaport Village. Ralph's is only 10 minutes walk. So I can just prep dinner in my room. The complimentary breakfast is basic, but very good. Got the regular fixings such as scrambled eggs, sausages, yogurt, milk, coffee and tea. And like other reviewers said, opens right on time at 6am weekdays. Lovely stay and will definitely pick this hotel again for next visit.
This was one of the most negative experiences I've ever had at a Marriott property. On check in, while walking to my room I was greeted with a hallway full of extremely loud and large fans that were pointed at the walls that had half attached wallpaper on them. These fans ran 24/7 and there was no notification of this work, which was incredibly frustrating since everything was directly outside my room. The room itself was extremely old and run down. The shower was rusted, the carpet was worn out and pulling up at the edges, and the door latches were off enough to not fully engage. On the second night of my stay, a sobbing woman was repeatedly knocking on my door, and continued to knock on every single door on my floor multiple times. I tried to call the front desk to notify them, but had t
