Pros: The location is excellent—just steps from the Embarcadero, Little Italy, and the Amtrak station. The surrounding area feels clean, safe, and modern, with lots of new buildings nearby. The staff members I interacted with were friendly and courteous throughout my stay. Cons: Unfortunately, a series of policies and operational issues made the stay feel disorganized and less smooth than expected. The hotel requires a physical credit card at check-in, even if the same card is already stored in Apple Pay and was used as the guarantee on the reservation. This policy wasn’t stated anywhere during booking or in the pre-arrival confirmation email, and because of it, I missed out on earning Marriott Bonvoy points—something that could easily be avoided with clearer communication. I had an absolutely outstanding experience at this hotel. Everyone I interacted with was helpful, kind and patient. I traveled during a weekend where there was a fairly loud music festival downtown (I did not do my research), and they were som incredibly accommodating to my needs. I’ve stayed here before for work conferences and couldn’t recommend better: well located, impeccably clean (very important to me in travel), over accommodating and friendly staff. Well worth the stay if you find it available! Once of the best in the area and a place I will surely be again.

Our two bedroom suite was amazing. The kitchen was spotless and spacious. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, clean and modern. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Location, location, location. This hotel is right on the waterfront. A short walk to the USS Midway aircraft carrier, Little Italy (upscale restaurants and bars), Seaport Village (home to unique bay front shops and restaurants), ferry boat access to Coronado Island (home to the famous Hotel Del Coronado), and three blocks from a huge beautiful playground for kids with tons of playground equipment. Also, only a short 20 minute drive to the San Diego Zoo. There are two things I think would improve the stay. First, there is only one children’s tv channel (Nickelodeon). In other words, if you’re traveling with children, bri

We had an amazing stay at the Marriott Bayfront San Diego! From the moment we checked in, Josiah provided exceptional customer care — truly going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Our room was incredibly comfortable, and the view was absolutely phenomenal. We spent a few hours at the rooftop lounge, enjoying a delicious dessert and the friendly, attentive staff while watching the sunset. Later in the evening, the team turned on the fire for us, creating the coziest atmosphere. The next morning, we loved the complimentary breakfast — everything was fresh and tasty. There are also so many great eateries within walking distance, which made exploring the area so easy. A true gem in San Diego — beautiful property, great location, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be back!

The hotel is disgusting to say the least. I am staying in room 1045 under Raven Donaldson. Dried drink splashes were found on the nightstand and dried blood on the comforter- I requested these things be cleaned immediately after seeing the room yesterday and no one ever came. This hotel is most definitely not worth over $400/night. I am slowly getting tired of Marriot not prioritizing cleanliness at many locations. How gross.
