This is not a hotel. It functions like a homeless shelter. There were tents set up outside the property, homeless individuals throughout the parking lot, and the lobby was filled with people who were clearly not guests. The environment felt unsafe the moment we arrived. The property looks absolutely nothing like the photos. The building is old, rundown, and dirty. The room itself was shocking. It felt unsafe, outdated, and poorly maintained. This is not what anyone expects from a Marriott branded property. Security is a serious concern. The layout, condition, and constant foot traffic made it feel like the kind of place where surveillance cameras would be necessary. We did not feel comfortable staying even one night. After seeing the room and the surrounding area, we immediately left a

We’ve always loved Marriott and are loyal Bonvoy members, with Residence Inn as our go-to choice for family travel. We were really looking forward to our recent three-night stay, but unfortunately, the property, service, and amenities fell far below the standards we’ve come to expect from the Marriott brand. While the online photos looked great, our two-room suite was located in a separate building across the parking lot that appeared to be a converted apartment complex. The hallways were dirty, dimly lit, and smelled of urine. Although our room itself was clean, it still didn’t meet typical Marriott quality. The next morning, we discovered the elevator was out of service and would be for several days. As guests on the third floor and me being a severe asthmatic, this was a major concern

Bonvoy member long time business traveler this will go down as top 3 worst experiences ever. Day 3 of stay, water heater functioned one day so far. Front desk said it was fixed. It wasn’t. I watched the maintenance restart it. It’s and old school tank water heater. Front desk unwilling to move me. Trash hotel. ***Update 2 weeks later. I have now been here 17 days and have had no hot water 8 times. They send a guy up to restart it and say "sorry". There have been plumbers on sight for a week. Still no help. I asked if they could leave the closet unlocked so i could restart it. They refuse. I might as well tell that the breakfast service that is supposed to start at 6:30 is also unreliable. Sometimes there are no eggs until 6:45. Marriott should cut ties with this owner. Bulldoze it start

Nice stay in downtown Salt Lake City. We were visiting the U and doing some skiing. Easy access by car and also by transit. Walked to light rail ( about 3 blocks ) or Amtrak ( about 4 blocks ) with great restaurants nearby. Staff was super friendly. Room is large with lots of choices for layout. Joy of Residence Inn is having a full kitchen - refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher etc. easy to reheat left overs or cook. We had a room in the newer main building with underground secure ( not heated) garage. This was awesome given the snow overnight. We left the skis in the car at night for example. The room itself was just okay. The size is good but could use some TLC. Screen door didn’t open, furnace was super loud and coming off and on all night, Showers are low

The elevator was out of service for my entire stay, which made hauling luggage up and down the stairs a free unadvertised fitness class. I was grateful for the late checkout until 1 PM, although housekeeping seemed to be operating on a different timeline. They knocked on my door three separate times before noon while I was on work calls. Nothing quite enhances a “late checkout” like repeated interruptions reminding you that you apparently shouldn’t still be here.
