Let’s start with the positives: the location and views are excellent, with a perfect sunrise outlook. Central Park, Broadway restaurants, and Times Square are all within easy walking distance, making it incredibly convenient and enjoyable. Now for the not-so-positive experience: From the moment we walked into the hotel, the lack of hospitality was noticeable. No staff member greeted or welcomed us not even a smile which set the tone for the rest of our stay. We were also not informed that refunds made with an international credit card could take up to a month, something that should be clearly communicated at check-in. Breakfast was enjoyable for the first three days, but as we stayed for nine days, the menu never changed and quickly became repetitive. While this may be acceptable for sho

Urgent: Unauthorized Charge / Dispute Regarding Security Deposit - Rooms 4303 & 4308 Dear Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park Management Team, I am writing to formally dispute an unauthorized charge of $1,450 made to my credit card regarding my recent stay from February 25 to March 3. We booked two rooms (Rooms 4303 and 4308) for our group of four. Upon check-in, we noticed that while one room was charged a standard $120 deposit, the other was charged $1,450. When I questioned this unusually high amount at the front desk, the staff mentioned they weren't sure why the system showed that amount but explicitly assured me it was just a hold and would be fully refunded upon checkout. Stayed here for a few nights over thanksgiving weekend. Wish I hadn't!|Let's start with the positives. Good central location with a reasonable room rate. Rooms were clean and spacious with modern fixtures and fittings. All staff that I encountered were excellent. Reception staff were really good in terms of speed of service and friendliness. Breakfast was ok with a fairly good choice of foods.|The massive issue was the lifts (or lack of them). The hotel has 65 floors and 4 lifts. Even when they are all working, the average time to wait was 5 minutes off peak and up to 15 mins at peak times ie breakfast.|The day we checked in only two lifts were working and the other two weren't fixed for c 36 hours. On the morning of day 2 of our stay we waited 40 mins to get a ride down to breakfast. 30 m

The hotel is conveniently located on Broadway. Our rooms got great views. However, the services are very poor and disappointing. We were traveling with family of six to attend a wedding in New York and when we first checked in, the rooms felt dusty and not very clean. The toilet paper on the roll was almost used up and there was no extra toilet paper in the bathroom. We had to contact the front desk three times to finally get it delivered. In one of the rooms, the water boiler was not working and you wonder if staff actually check the room condition before guests come.  There had been another incident that we think could be totally avoided if the hotel pays attention to the condition of the room and convenience for the guest. I highly recommend staying here. Orlando who can help you with your bags and getting a taxi was always cheerful and ready to help! He even went outside and took photos of our whole group in the falling snow! He was also very calm even when we were all rushing around and needing extra help. Cyril at the front desk calmly helped us when our flight got canceled. And everyone at the hotel restaurant was friendly and kind. Everything was clean and neat as well. Plus our view was amazing and the beds were very comfortable.
