Residence Inn by Marriott Greenville

I recently stayed at the Residence Inn in Greenville. I was allowed to check in early, which helped me settle before dinner. I was given a bottle of water, but not one of the welcome bags I saw prepared. I am Titanium, so it seems I should have gotten one. Other than that, the front desk service was friendly and helpful. I was put on the top floor, so that was also nice, as it would be quieter. My room was large with a fully equipped kitchen, desk area, dressers, and a table. The television swiveled so you could watch from many areas. There were a lot of stations to select from, so I was happy with that. The WIFI was also fast and reliable. The mattress was comfortable. This is a decent property. Although an older property, it’s clean and comfortable.The a/c won’t blast an arctic wave but cools enough. No a/c in the hallways. Elevators are a little slow. The beds and pillows were comfortable, which is probably the most important aspect. There are no USB outlets. Zero. In this day and time, I’m surprised but my fault for not packing my adapter. The breakfast is sufficient with a normal selection. The shower is in the tub and yet to be upgraded to a walk-in. The staff is very nice. There is a Jimmy John’s across the street but will need a car for anything more. It is very close to the ECU hospital.

I had originally booked an Airb&b but encountered a major problem. When I found the Residence Inn I was relieved and then when I found out we could check in super early (7:30 in the morning) I was so excited I could’ve cried. From the moment we walked in the door to check in, until the day we left every single employee we encountered was friendly and professional and made our stay absolutely delightful. The tall young manager seemed to be very hands-on and was always walking around ensuring that the property was in tiptop shape and that guests were happy. Beautiful hotel, but not the most sanitary. Found mysterious stains on my towel and lots of mold on my shower curtain. I will admit, though they had a seamless mobile check-in process and a decent complementary breakfast.

All the staff I encountered during my 1-night say, were extremely nice and helpful. Room was great. Hotel is walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants.
