Residence Inn by Marriott Boulder Canyon Boulevard

Overall, the Residence Inn by Marriott Boulder Canyon Boulevard is a very good hotel. The room itself was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was solid, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The property is modern and generally well-maintained, and in most respects it’s exactly what you’d expect from a Residence Inn. However, there were two significant problems during our stay. First, there is effectively no real control over the room temperature. We set the thermostat as low as possible and the room still stayed uncomfortably warm. Other guests mentioned having the same experience, so it didn’t seem to be limited to our room. Second, the key card system is unreliable. You need a key card for almost everything (exterior doors, elevators, gym access, etc.) but the cards were inconsi

The location of this hotel is perfect. It’s smack in the middle of everything so you can walk just about everywhere. The rooms were big and ours had a kitchenette stocked with cutlery and dishes, which was nice. Everything was pretty clean except for one bed that had what looked like an old blood stain on it. We were able to get it traded out pretty quickly though. The staff was very friendly with everyone with encountered. The breakfast had a variety of items to choose from and the gym was better than expected. Overall, this was a good spot and we’d probably stay here again.

Everything was nice until they charged my credit card twice. I understand charging a deposit hold upon check-in, but the deposit amount equaled the total amount of the stay. Upon checkout, instead of turning the pending hold into the final charge, they charged a duplicate amount which created two pending charges. One of which took two weeks to drop off. That is unacceptable on their part.

Our room had one window that faced a solid concrete wall about 12 inches away. As such, the room was very dark and dreary. We didn't pay for a mountain view but was not expecting a concrete wall. The parking garage is way too small for the number of rooms and the spaces are really tight. You cannot park a largish vehicle in there. The room was 80 degrees when we arrived (January). It took all night for the room to get comfortable even with the window open (about 6 inches is all it opens) and the a/c set to 65. As such, we slept very little the first night in the heat. Residence inn Boulder, CO First I want to say that I am a long time resident of Boulder and knew that this location would be best for us as we had to move out of our home for renovations. We stayed here for 2+ weeks. Here is my opinion of this hotel. First off, ALL of the staff are great! The front desk staff is extremely accommodation and never say NO. This attribute is hard to find in hotels these days as everyone wants to say “NO” for everything. We stay at luxury hotels often, they never used to say no, now it seems to be a normal practice. Here is an example of the no no’s: I wanted to use the grill and the person on duty (Maya) said, “I was not trained on how to do this but, let’s give it a go”.
