Residence Inn by Marriott Bakersfield West

Not a cheap hotel, you get what you pay for. Everything is great!! The suites are like 1 bdrm apts with a full kitchen (including dishwasher), a large built in desk, a beautiful bathroom, and a bdrm with a 2nd TV and comfortable bed. AC/HEAT work flawlessly. The breakfast buffet has 3 hot entres daily with a rotating selection. Also cold cereals, breads, waffle maker, yogurt, and many toppings. Has a large pool and furnished patio too. Several people stay from days to literally four months. It's that good.

I got a comp’d room with Bonvoy points for President’s Day weekend (Sun. Feb 18th - check out Mon. Feb 19th late) I got in around 8pm, the front desk clerk was very helpful and gave me a high floor room nearest the elevators. Overall, it was excellent, no problems except for the bathroom shower, details to come. I had a King studio with small kitchen, and it was nicely furnished. As for the shower, honestly the renovated shower was a bit weird, as it had no curtain or sliding door as I prefer a more ‘closed’ environment when taking a shower. Other than the bathroom shower, everything else was excellent. I stayed up to get breakfast, and I was satisfied. Choices were good, and enjoyed the cereal and yogurt. I got late checkout til 3pm per Bonvoy Platinum, and Thank You to the night auditor

The hotel was clean, and the rooms were quite spacious. However, the night reception/front desk staff was very grumpy and did not welcome or greet guests. She appeared to welcome some guests based on skin color, which made us uncomfortable. She probably should not be working at the front desk, as this created an unpleasant start to our stay. The food was good, and the breakfast staff were friendly and nice. I would recommend this hotel if the night reception staff were changed.

Brianna at the front desk was an absolute delight. She was incredibly welcoming and made me feel so valued from the moment i checked in. Her knowledge of the area and her suggestions for local restaurants made my stay even better. The level of service she provides is exactly what makes a Marriott stay so special. Thank you, Brianna!

Very clean, the rooms are so nice with a kitchenette. The staff are so accommodating and sweet and all around love it here. The location is easy with a grocery store nearby and even some easy to reach fast food!
