Redwood Inn

Single night stay while visiting Santa Rosa. Not fancy but comfortable. Spacious room with basic amenities. The bathroom, while spacious, isn't modern or well appointed. Took a while to get hot water in the shower. Otherwise no complaints, a good, affordable option for a brief stay.

This is a "budget" hotel and we stayed a couple nights expecting a budget experience. We were unexpectedly surprised that we had a much more pleasant stay. The room was clean, as were the towels and there plenty for our needs, and sufficiently thick; all appliances worked, with the AC being critical as we were staying when Santa Rosa weather was in the mid 90° f, there were plenty of electrical receptacles, and parking was easy. Check in and out was quick. If there are any negatives, the furniture is a little on the old side and some were showing age and wear, but given the budget price, I was expecting that would be the case. During our initial check-in, we were delighted with the room and the owner's warm hospitality. The room was clean, organized, and cozy. As my husband was working in the area, we needed a suitable rental property. However, after a couple of days, the manager began calling every morning at 7:30, demanding payment by 9:00 am. I requested if my husband could settle the payment during his lunch break at 11:00, as I was experiencing hip pain and difficulty walking. The manager refused, insisting that I obtain the cash immediately. This became a daily occurrence. We ended up staying for a week, but it would have been more economical to return to the Hampton Inn, which offered a room 30.00 cheaper per night and included a nice breakfast. Incredible deal at this price point. The location of this motel is awesome. This is an older motel from the old days, BUT completely renovated! Everything was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was friendly and very efficient. Heck, even the ice machine worked. The only thing I would ask for are grab bars in the shower. I would highly recommend this motel.
