Red Roof PLUS+ Long Island - Garden City

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve stayed. I travel a lot and have stayed at many different hotels across the states. The interior is very old and you can tell; the lobby and hall ways are dirty. Room is clean but again things are old and barely work, especially the shower drain. The biggest turn offs for me were 1. I found pube hair on the clean towel 2. Every night the bathroom smelled like weed and smoke; it was so strong that the smell dissipated into our room. I have never experienced this at any other hotels before. Clearly this one does not enforce non smoking rules

Positive: It’s a simple, comfortable hotel at a good price. Not fancy, not really anything extra but the rooms do have a small fridge and microwave. And they always have coffee in the lobby. Negative: ""

I booked my trip to NYC staying at Red Roof in April for a 4 night stay in August on Priceline non refundable. After booking I went on TripAdvisor to read reviews, I never thought to look before I did the booking. I was horrified when I read the reviews… lots of negative comments, people saying the hotel is dirty and has bugs and stained beds, rude staff etc.|When we arrived I talked to several different people at the front desk and they were all very nice. The room is spotless, no bugs, no stains. We stayed in a suite and it is very roomy. Perfect for a family of 4. I’m glad I stayed here, I got a great deal and it was a great stay, no problems at all!

Alrighty let's get Into the ratings explanation for this location, first of all, the room was super dirty and nasty there were chips and food under the bed and pubic hair in the only sitting chair in the room, the sheets were disgusting and the pillows were so flat!!! the sheets had more fluff than the pillows, I asked the front desk if they could please give us an extra pillow? they proceeded to tell me they didn't have a single extra pillow in the whole facility!!! which I know that was a lie!!! and each bed only had three pillows!!; who puts a odd number of pillows on a bed? I would also like to say that I asked housekeeping not to go in my room as I had a lot of valuables in their well guess what they went right in my room... And in all honesty the price was entirely too much for the e

This will be my last stay at any Red Roof. The inexpensiveness is not worth the negative amenities. The remote did not work and when we asked for a replacement it still did not work. The only channel was Florida weather. The bathroom setup, where the sink is outside the bathroom is very unsanitary. The light switch above the bed blew a fuse and left a smoky smell. The sheets created static. I could hardly get out the bed without getting shocked. The elevators were crummy. The room key stopped working one hour before check out, just unnecessary inconveniences. Just needs a head to toe overhaul. Good bye Ref Roof, forever.
