Red Roof Inn & Suites Hazleton

My god may be one of the worst hotel/motel I have every stayed in. First the front desk worker was the only saving grace. She was super nice and friendly. But that where the positives end. The rooms are busted up in different buildings which is just kind of strange but not unheard of. When I first walked into building D with the 400s rooms, I was hit with the smell of mold and mildew. My room absolutely reeked of the smell of weed. Shower seems I would get dirtier using it than before I got in it. Rooms are horrifically outdated with used and abused furniture. Don't expect or room to be anywhere near a comfortable temp when you arrive cause they turn the thermostat to off. Walked into a 40 degree room that took a few hours to warm up to a tolerable level. The room was dirty. Bed looked like it was lazily remade with used bedsheets. There was trash in the room. The tub has black stuff on the bottom. Chair definitely had bodily fluids on it. Not to mention it smelled like body odor, and the A/C was broken open. We asked for another room. The door was already open. There were nails on the desk. The guy said it’s because they changed the locks and did not seem to care that the door was open and nails left behind. We got a refund and left.

Lock in for this: We ordered 2 queens but when we received our key and went to our room we discovered they gave us 1 king with a separate living room area attached, very spacious, accessed from the parking lot rather than a room in a building. But my friend was not willing to share a bed with my dog (fair) so we got our rooms switched which they did quickly and efficiently. Big mistake! Our new room was what we initially booked and pet friendly. The room smelled funky (not like cigarettes though). Sheets were stained. No bed bugs that we could see so that’s a plus. Bathroom towels had someone else’s hair on them and the bathtub was grimy. That aside- safety concerns. We felt safe in Hazleton but not so much in our room. This room was accessed within a building. There was no swipe key neede

Positive: Breakfast facility and Location Negative: Rooms was not clean, lot of visible dirt on the floor. Although front desk arranged cleaner but there was no vaccum cleaner available with them. Also, heating was not proper in our bedroom, no hand soap. Will not book again for sure.

I see many negative reviews here for unsatisfactory rooms. I have been using this location for years now as they are close to Evergreen Raceway. I have never had an issue. The staff is great, at least every time I stayed. The rooms are good for a night or two stay. Our towels were clean, sheets clean. We are not picky. The prices are great for the amount of room you get. We stay in the king suite every time. Yes, the rooms are outdated, the tub was peeling, floors have marks, but nothing that would make me not want to be there. The breakfast isn’t large but it’s food. There are many areas within 2-5 miles to eat if you don’t like what they offer. There was no mold smell in my room. The AC was fine, as well as the heat. The lights worked. Outlets where they were needed. Toilet clean and flu
