Red Roof Inn Indianapolis East

Nice hotel….. ended up staying there twice on our trip East and then back to MN…….Room 122 was the best! Right off the freeway, our dogs stayed with us…… nice lawn at the rear of the property was great to let them run around a bit, after a long car ride.

Room 105 has a horrible bed. It squeaks with any movement and is not comfortable. Also didn’t have enough hot water for 2 showers. Some sewer smell also in the room. We complained about the bed and were told they were sold out of our room type and since we booked through a third party (Booking.com) they could not change us room types. The guy at the front desk was nice at least; he asked his manager and tried. We stayed here before and it was okay but we won’t again.

Positive: Night manager is superb, friendly and professional and a bit of kindness. Negative: Nope

We booked this motel for the eclipse in April, mainly because our dog was coming with us and the reviews here were pretty good. I was not expecting anything fancy, just a clean room to spend a few days while in town. Not sure if we got a ‘pets’ room that was substandard as I’m surprised by the other reviews stating how clean rooms were. Our room was NOT clean by anyone’s standards. We saw something splashed on just about every wall, the window was so dirty you could hardly see through it and the floor was grimy under foot. It appeared the sheets were clean but the comforters and coverlets were stained with well, who knows what. The tub spout was so loose that it required both hands to activate the shower head. Front desk refused to let me stay, was rude, dismissive and told me to get out because I had dogs. Red roof is a pet friendly chain. This person shouldn’t be in this industry. *edited to add I spoke to someone claiming to be a manager, she called me a liar when I relayed my experience to her. The people who work at or run this motel are dishonest and untrustworthy, I would not return if they offered me a free stay.
