Red Roof Inn Amarillo West

I was second in line at check-in and I was in the lobby over 15 minutes. Not a great start. I was given a good room in a decent spot, and my eyes popped when I saw how big it was. Popped again when I looked down and saw a mound of dirt imside the door by the a/c unit. I used a face towel to mop, and it was gross. It seems to me that if you manage a hotel, and you are going through all the trouble of trying to make sure your rooms get filled up every night, but the housekeepers don't even keep the floor clean, then you are wasting your time. Then, just before 11 PM, I woke up to the sound of the Amarillo PD beating on the door next door. They ultimately had to kick the door in, so there's that. The hotel was fantastic! Room was very large and comfortable. I had a single King size room. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Not your cheap sheets. Has a refrigerator, microwave, ironing board & iron, and hair dryer. The pictures on their website are a true depiction of the rooms. Thay had waffles, biscuits and gravy, coffee, and juice every morning. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to make my stay enjoyable. Room was very quiet, no outside noise. For the price, this is an exceptional place to stay.

Positive: Beautiful Views, crisp air, walking distance from a cool downtown with unique restaurants, a couple of bars, grocer, and other misc things to get into! Negative: Man....It'a COLD here in Flagstaff, AZ!!!!!!!!!!!! No Lie. Cold. Like 19°F/20°F. Straight Cold! BUT!!! It didn't rain, wasn't too windy, & was way sunny, so even at night I could walk around with just a hoodie and jeans, during the day & even at night.

This place was a disaster from the beginning. The desk clerk greeted us outside where she was smoking will The Cloud of smoke we had to walk to to go inside. I had reserved a king room and ended up getting a double Queen. Which was not a great deal. We had done traveling for over 12 hours this day and we were tired and just wanted a quiet night. When we turned on the air unit the fan sounded like a plane was coming through the room. I got a text message how we like the room and I explained we were not happy and I was told the front desk would be in touch with us right away. That never happened so I had fixed the fan on the unit myself. The only good thing about this place was it was pet friendly and that's the only reason we were staying at this particular place. Here in Amarillo Paulina at the front desk was very very pleasant and helpful. I did not get the person's name not I didn't the let two nights at a Red Roof Inn in Corpus Christi Texas. The room is very large, clean and comfortable. The beds are very comfortable and the TV has premium cable channels. Red Roof Inn has not let me down yet.
