Red Lion Hotel Coos Bay

We stayed here February 20-22. We had wanted to stay at the casino, but it was booked. I had never had a bad experience with any Red Lion that I've ever stayed at, so didn't figure this would be any different. I was wrong. There was mold on the curtain sheers, the outlet that the heater/ac unit was plugged into was a box laying on the floor, not in the wall. The corners in the bathroom looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time. There was no where to hang up clothes. We asked for a couple more pillows. They were never delivered like we were told they would be. The people working there were nice. But beyond that, this place seems unhealthy and unsafe. Not an experience I will ever repeat.

Absolutely terrible experience. Key cards didn’t work multiple times. Upon finally getting access to the rooms we were met with rundown, dated and downright filthy rooms. Stains on bedsheets and carpet. Dirty stained towels. Dead bugs in multiple different locations. And the door jam had a major crack running through it where it appears someone tried to kick in the door. Had to checkout within 25 minutes of checking in. Didn’t want to spend another minute in that room. Front desk didn’t seem even slightly surprised when we brought up these issues. Avoid this place!

Check in went smoothly, customer service was good, and then that's about the last positive experience we had. At first our rooms door didn't accept my card, but it accepted my roommates after a couple trys. When we got in, there was definitely a smell, we couldn't quite put our finger on it. Then I laid on my bed, ah! I know that smell! Cat urine. Being me and my coworkers first time taking a business trip we didn't want our boss who was with us to be annoyed so we just decided to deal with it and share his bed. Maybe they have ESPN, and we will watch the game, no, the small TV barely got enough of a signal to show a picture. Whatever I'll take a shower, shower head broke as soon as I turned it on. Sheesh! Let's just go next door and hang out with our other coworkers. They didn't have a TV

Positive: The front desk woman was exceptionally accommodating, friendl, welcoming and understanding. Negative: The room was very out dated. We found old food cartons and beverage containers in a closet and a previous guests Birkenstocks. We had to leave due to a guest that were very suspicious making my parents and my myself uncomfortable

This motel is a truck stop motel, with a huge parking lot. The pool is in the parking lot, and the jacuzzi had no water in it. There is not much around the motel besides a treatment plant. There is no water view from most of the rooms, so they shouldn’t advertise that. |The “water is across the boulevard, along with roadside businesses and warehouses. |The TV didn’t work at all, and the staff acted like they’d heard that before, and were tired of being bothered by those questions. Housekeeping knocks on your door pretty loud at 9am, basically letting you know they’d like you up and out. |If you have a chance to drive down the beautiful Oregon coast, and want to stay somewhere that will match the experience, I don’t recommend this Red Lion.
