SouthSider Motel

I absolutely love staying here! The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, the water pressure in the shower is perfect (AND you don't have to wait 15 minutes for hot water to kick in like some other motels in town!) the wifi actually WORKS, clean mini fridges and a super nice staff! All the things that matter when you are traveling away from home! I have never had any issues here and plan on staying again soon.

We had a pleasant stay here. The young man at the desk was friendly and welcoming. Room was nice. We did notice a few things off, but let the young man know about what we noticed, I have no doubt they will be addressed and fixed. A couple recommendations would be to print new TV channel listing sheets and laminate them, maybe create a binder to put it in, with some local eateries and interesting sites around town? I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great price for a clean and safe place to rest. The newly remodeled bathrooms are very nice, and we appreciated the oscillation fan in the room. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. I was worried about the busy Road next to the motel but it was actually quiet through the night and we slept great! The prices were very affordable , and although it's an older motel you can definitely tell they work hard to keep the rooms nice and comfortable for guests. It is located close to shopping, coffee shops, and the center of town so you can walk a short distance to go shopping for your needs. Rooms are non smoking, and clean. Parking is in front of each room. The only con was the non working ice machine, but a quick trip to the market a block over solved the problem :) We could tell

If you're traveling from far away, don't stay here. They won't let you check in, they don't answer their phone, they don't return your calls, they have a strict no refunds policy clearly displayed in their lobby on a sign, and their staff are rude if you ask them for help. I paid $150 to sleep in my car. Terrible experience. Here's what happened: I knew I was going to arrive past midnight, so I called them at 8:30 PM to ask if there would be someone to check me in. They didn't answer their phone, and instead I left a message. The machine said they'd call me back soon. I called them again at 9 PM when I received no response, again, same result with the machine answering the call promising a call back. We ended up driving and arriving after midnight. The desk clerk started by complaining about how much Expedia charged him for my reservation. Then complained that motel 6 had lowered their price to compete with him, and we’re taking his business away. Next to a fairly busy intersection with loud cars roaring by most of the night. Mattresses were mostly springs, very thin pad on top. Sheets were stained and worn through to bare threads in several spots. Bath towel had pink fingernail polish dried into it. Toilet seat was loose and sliding around. Could not safety lock the door once inside. Large gap under the door. Nice tile floor throughout and shower had newer tile work done. Very cheap, very basic hotel.
