Ramada by Wyndham Monterey

Me and my fiancé always go to this hotel when we come to Monterey. It’s affordable and about 5-10 minutes from everything. It’s in the center of everywhere we’ve wanted to go to (aquarium, popular shops, beaches, Caramel, etc.) Rooms & bathrooms have always been clean and I NEVER have to worry about bed bugs. After doing so much research, this was one of the only hotels where there wasn’t a single review about those little creatures. Staff have always been friendly. I’ve always been able to get close parking to my room and have never felt unsafe. Rooms are always quiet, even with there being an airport near by I have yet to be woken up by an airplane. This is my go to hotel for girls trips and honeymoon trips. Highly suggest if you’re on a budget and don’t mind a short drive to the beach.

We stayed here for 1 night and were able to check in early at no extra cost, which was really appreciated. The rooms are all accessed from external walkways, and the location is good for visiting Monterey as well as being not too far from Carmel-by-the-Sea or the 17 Mile Drive. There is plenty of parking so could park near your room. Overall, it’s a cheap and cheerful place to stay.|The person on reception was absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful. They explained the reception hours, tea and coffee facilities, and were genuinely friendly, which gave a great first impression.|Unfortunately, the room itself had a few issues. The smell of bleach or chlorine was extremely strong, especially in the bathroom. We only stayed one night, but the smell never faded, and it was so overpowering t

Positive: "" Negative: I had to go into the office to have them turn on the wifi. They only clean the rooms after a 3-day stay and since we were only there for 2-day we did not get any cleaning servide. So we did not get any fresh towels, trash removed, or other room cleaning.

I had a great experience with my two night stay. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room was perfect, great set up, comfortable, clean and all amenities worked perfectly. The bus stop is right there; grocery store and restaurants in walking distance. I couldn’t have been happier. Definitely a safe and nice place to stay.

Great price per night, rooms very clean, staff excellent, kind and helpful. The major downside is that the walls are thin, so you'll hear your neighbors watch TV, snore (if they do so loudly), or, memorably, tromp relentlessly back and forth overhead like a nervous rhinoceros. The location is directly under the airport approach path and you will hear the 5:15 AM flight land as if on your pillow. The neighborhood is unprepossessing but broadly okay, plus you're within shouting distance of The Creperie Cafe and The Butter House, which are not to be missed. So, if the low price is worth it, or if you're really not sensitive to noise, this place is fine. Again, the truly excellent staff are a standout feature.
