Monterey Marriott

We recently stayed at the Monterey Marriott hotel as Elite Gold members and had a disappointing experience regarding parking transparency. Upon arrival in our oversized vehicle, the valet informed us that our car would not fit in the garage. He offered to let us park in a loading zone area on the street and presented it as an accommodation due to the size of our vehicle. We had not requested valet service and planned to self-park. At no point were we told that parking in that location would incur the valet parking charge. The way it was communicated made it seem like a courtesy option. It wasn’t until we received our final bill via email that we discovered the charge. When we called to inquire, we were ultimately told the charge would remain. Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is fresh and clean. The staff is amazing! They never seemed bothered by any request and were so quick. There’s water stations and ice on every floor and free guest laundry machines. We came here for a marathon and the did everything to make the experience a great one. From hand written notes wishing us well for the run to the restaurant special being curated for runners, it was a great experience.|We will definitely be back.

Monterey Marriott delivered exactly what I needed for a multi-day business stay — and then some. I spent four nights here for work, and the location alone is a standout. Once you arrive, the walkability makes it easy to truly experience Monterey — great dining, coastal views, and that relaxed-but-polished vibe — all without needing to get back in the car. And when you do want to explore farther, Uber and Lyft make it effortless to get to places like Carmel-by-the-Sea, 17-Mile Drive, and Pebble Beach. What really set this stay apart, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with — from the front desk to the bar team and the behind-the-scenes service staff — was genuinely exceptional. We had an absolutely fantastic say at the Marriott! The location was perfect. We had a bay view from our room and we could easily walk or bike to anywhere we wanted to go. The theme and décor of our room and the hotel in general was lovely and elegant. From the valet and baggage service to the waiters, bartenders and front desk staff, the entire staff was super friendly, helpful and hospitable. We also appreciated being able to bring our dog and ebikes along with us. Great stay (and great Chocolate Martini)!

Had a fantastic stay at the Marriott in Monterey. From the moment we arrived, the valet was great, and the staff made us feel truly welcome. The entire property is beautifully maintained, and my room was spotless. I was genuinely pleasantly surprised by the resort fee—usually, those feel like an extra charge for nothing, but here, you can use it for many practical things, so it feels like real value. They also have water and soda dispensers, a thoughtful, convenient touch you don't see everywhere. The amenities are top-notch. The gym is excellent, and I really appreciate that they have outdoor exercise equipment and a great swimming facility. We also tried the breakfast buffet, which was delicious and offered plenty of options. If you're looking for a place that pays attention to details
