Rainbow Campground

Our favorite campground. Post-fire there is no natural canopy so bring your own. Otherwise still one of the best campsites in Oregon.

Spent July 3-5th 2025 in spot #13. As previous reviewer stated there is fire damage here in the campground. Is it dire? not necessarily, our spot was devoid of trees and you can see where the damaged trees have been cut down. Our spot had river access and was close to the bathrooms. I felt completely safe here with my 2 kids and dog. Some of the other spots are undesireable but this campground is still very usable.

Really great campground next to the river and trailhead. Came here with some friends, 6 kids total all 5 and under, no issues. Camp host Dan is based over in Ripplebrook where the dumpsters are. Nice, chill guy. Restrooms clean. A few larger spots by the river. Most are small and could only accommodate 1 smaller tent, 2-3 ppl max

Extreme fire damage remains: moonscape with no shade. Hazards for campers abound. Not safe for children or pets. No water. No garbage collection. Not worth $30 a night. A sad loss from human-caused 2020 Riverside fire.

Campsite 7 felt just the right amount of secluded. Camp attendants were friendly. Loved the trail and river access.
