Ragans Family Campground

Almost didn't stay here because of the reviews and didn't expect much. Here overnight. I've passed by many times over the past 15 or so years but never stopped because of timing; tonight made sense to stay here. I'm showing 5-stars, but I'd give it slightly less. I usually don't review campgrounds because they meet my expectations, this exceeded them. Recognizing it's mid-November, not many spaces are occupied and all the water features are closed so can't really comment on them although they appear to be in pretty good shape. As I sit here, next to the open area behind the office I'm looking out on a number of kids and a family (mom/dad and 3 kids) playing half-court basketball. Quite frankly, I am not sure why there are so many low ratings, this is a very nice park, you can tell its an older park, but it's well maintained and it's way older than it looks. Check-in was organized, took awhile to figure out where to check-in, but overall good experience. The store is one of the more nicer stores we have seen. The spaces between RV lots is good. There are more shady spots, which we were happy about, since our last couple of stays have been in direct hot sun. It's fairly large, so my dog had very brisk outings. There is alot of amenities for families, we came over Labor Day and there was a schedule of events with everything else park offers (mini water park, gem mining, playgrounds, etc). We have stayed here twice & both times were wonderful!! Clean, quiet & friendly staff!! They actually went out of their way to assist us on getting an item we left at the site! They mailed the item to us post pre-paid label from UPS! So grateful as the item was expensive! Thank you!!! Will definitely stay again & highly recommended this campground!!

We had a great visit at this campground - we just stayed overnight in our RV en route to visit family, but I would have loved to stay longer. Lots of fun things for families to do, awesome playground, a nice mix of cabin, tent, and various RV sizes (including pull-through spots). Nice little store and the people are friendly!

We have been visiting Jellystone/Ragans for 14 years. We always stay in the larger cabins or Ranger's House. For the last two years we have been very disappointed and this will probably be our last. Although the camp was cleaner this time than I have ever seen it the customer service, activities and attitude of the staff has certainly changed. Up until the last two years Ragans has always been very accommodating and friendly. We have always arrived around 1 and if the cabin was cleaned we were allowed in and if it wasn't cleaned we were still allowed in to use the pool and playground until the cabin was ready. This year we were not until allowed in or even on the property until 3. I do not understand why RV's and tent campers are allowed in and cabin people have to wait. How much w
