Rabbit Ears Motel

WOW! This little spot really packs a punch. I stayed here for an overnight work trip, and was enthusiastically greeted by Lindsay and Reni (hoping I didn’t butcher the spelling!). These two gals could not have been kinder or more welcoming. They set me up with a room that had a spectacular view of the Yampa, which I felt so lucky to have woken up to in the morning. This room was just enough- clean, spacious and ultra cozy. If you’re a low-maintenance traveler, this is the spot for you! I’ll definitely plan to stay here again. 10/10!

The check in ladies were great, and not bothered to repeat local info. Room was cozy , with a woodsy feel. It had a balcony overlooking river. It was nice to have to the door open overnight to hear the water rushing by. ||The sheets on one bed should have been thrown out, they were washed but badly stained, and a bit threadbare and rough. ||I will give them the benefit of the doubt that what I reported to front desk about what else was on sheets was a one off. 🤪

Rabbit Ears Motel is a new favorite after our first stay. My spouse and I frequently travel long distances in our electric car which sometimes involves finding somewhere to stop for the night and charge the car. We are typically just looking for somewhere safe and clean to stay for the night and aren't looking for a ton of amenities. I love this place for a number of reasons: 1. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. 2. Location is perfect for a stop-over on the way between Minneapolis and Salt Lake City. 3. Price is right. Seriously. Look at the other options in this area and you'll be hard pressed to find a better place to stay for anything close to the price of a room here. 4. Rooms are modern / updated. Best bang for you're buck! Super clean updated rooms with plenty of HOT water. The ladies at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop for the free bus steps away from the front door. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. If I'm ever back in Steamboat, I will stay here again.

I stayed here over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and had an amazing stay! The office is open and staffed 24/7 and the staff was amazing and so accommodating. I made a mistake in booking a room that was too small for us, and the staff was incredibly kind and upgraded us to a larger room at no additional charge to us. They also let us leave our car in their parking lot on the day we checked out so we could take the shuttle to Steamboat ski resort and ski without worrying about moving the car in the morning! Rooms have a microwave and a mini fridge so you can save on food by buying microwave meals. The continental breakfast provided is small but sufficient.
