Meadows Campground sits at about 9,300 ft on Hahn’s Peak Road above Steamboat Springs, Colorado, offering a serene subalpine meadow framed by lodgepole pines and Engelmann spruce. I stayed in Site #3, which featured a clean, gently sloping gravel pad that was easy to level for my 32-foot RV. Although there are no hookups, ample space and well-cleared tent areas make it ideal for fully self-contained campers. Arriving shortly after noon, I found the campground nearly empty, yet by evening, most sites were occupied without feeling crowded. In the distance, you can hear traffic on Highway 40, and the camp host’s generator ran loudly into early evening before shutting off at dusk—but overall, the forested setting and views of mountains and wildflowers more than compensate for those minor dis
Reminded us a lot of our favorite campground back home. Little piece of heaven. Saw humming birds in our campsite as soon as we arrived, a bull moose later in the evening during a lovely hike then watched bats fly above while we roasted marshmallows before bed. There is noise from the highway but didn't bother us. And mosquito were heavy but we were 110% come again if ever back in the area.
A Place to get back with Nature again,Nearby kayaking etc.Super fresh Air.Sitting on top of Rabbit Ears Pass,Co.Camp Host here really Nice and Helpful.
Not the greatest of forest campgrounds. We've stayed at tons of them, and this is not the finest. Road in is filled with large water filled pot holes as well within the campground as well. This place needs some work. Look at the sign in board out front and they are proposing to raise the rates to $26 a night. Ridiculous. It was close to Steamboat which is why we did enjoy it. The loop to the right is all first come first serve so go there if you don't have a reservation.
Very pretty but road noise does suck. Camp host friendly but ran a loud generator.
