Quality Suites Atlanta Buckhead Village North

If you are expecting 4-star hotel experience, then THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. The smell of weed was constant(daily and every time we stepped outside the room). I asked for a room with reasonable accommodations (wheelchair accessibility) and/or on the first floor. They gave me neither. They placed us on the 3rd floor- had to get assistance from people passing by just to go up and down the steps. Too late to cancel, but was promised by the manager to try and place us on a lower floor and never got a call in the 3 nights we were there. I asked for a shower chair and was told one was in the room, never got that. Stove, microwave, and fridge, but you have to buy your own cooking utensils etc. Room was clean at first glance, but common touch areas (light switches, microwave, blinds) were not.

First time was great. Second time was okay, we were way in the back of the property which is pretty sketchy at night. Place needs an overhaul badly. Weed being smoked all over is a detrimental effect to a positive environment. We will ask in advance for a room near the front of the property next time. We didn’t feel comfortable parking in the back. We parked up front. There is a delightful restaurant across the street you just have to get a safe room near the entrance then you can leave out at night. Hostess was okay, not as pleasant as she could have been. Room was clean enough and sheets had been washed in bleach. I liked that. Thank GOD we didn’t see any roaches, would have had to leave.

Let me start out with the positives, the staff was very nice and helpful. The lobby and bar area appear to have been update recently and looked nice. Now, the rooms- Plenty of room, but poorly lit, if the lights worked at all. The over the vanity in one bathroom wouldn't come on, and the one in the kitchen was dim and only stayed on for 10 minutes before going out. The air conditioner rattled anytime it ran. The rooms were not clean and the couch was worn out. I guess that is why all of the lighting was dim, so you couldn't see how dirty it was. The rooms definitely haven't been updated since the early 90's if I had to guess. One day they brought us towels, the next day they didn't. Beds were not made either day. Apartment suites, on prem lounge, and full featured hotel. This place was a little distant from my destination, but I'm glad to have tried it. Management and staff were very courteous and helpful. They went above and beyond, even providing transportation. The facilities are a bit dated, but the pool is maintained and the gym is extremely clean. Lounge has great service and good selection of food and drinks. Morning breakfast was always good, with a selection of hot and cold foods. Can always find coffee brewed in the lobby. The rooms themselves are lightly appointed, well secured, and have doors between the rooms for privacy and security. Used to be 5 stars. The facilities are hit or miss. We needed to move rooms due to overly rowdy upstairs neighbors who were for some reason not trespassed from the property. Our second room was definitely cleaner and did not have a lingering imbedded smell of old cigarettes. The staff are trying their best, but it seems Choice Hotels is neglecting this property. Definitely not getting what you pay for or expect from the brand. It's a shame because it's a terrific location and layout. The staff really are trying to offer the best experience possible. This may be our last visit, after years of frequenting this well kept secret gem in the heart of Buckhead.
