Quality Inn Macomb near University Area

The front desk representatives were very nice and helpful! However, there were bugs near the window and near the staircase. Also, the room was never cleaned when housekeeping finished. The beds didn’t look like it was fixed up like they were when I first checked in.

Good: It is quiet and inexpensive. |Bad: Had to move rooms because the air conditioner was mildew-y and really smelly. Bad for asthmatics. Breakfast was ok, the kids liked the mini waffles. |Over all it is really run down with rust on the bathroom door frames and peeling furniture in the rooms. Stayed because we were too tired to complain but would not go back.

Good: they gave me a room without a reservation. Staff were nice. Bad: both mornings when I woke up there was no hot water (it got lukewarm-- too cold to shower in). The first morning I called in to the desk. When I went out to eat breakfast, I was told that "he turned on the boiler." Now why this hotel wouldn't have a boiler on when they had guests is beyond me. But even the next day, there was hot water in my sink but not in the shower. I said that I didn't think I should have to pay $100 per night for a room without a hot shower and was told "I don't have the authority to decide that." I uploaded a picture of the chair in my room-- it looks like it was picked up from the street next to a dumpster.

Not your average Choice Hotel, dont bring up any complaints because the first thing this hotel ownership will do is disrespect you and accuse you of trying to scam them. Was placed in a room where the fire alarm had been removed and the cords left dangling into the room. Brought it to the attention of the owner at the front desk and was met with immediate backlash, was told I could leave and if I did they wouldn't refund me or i could choose to stay. I chose to stay on the condition Im poor and could not afford other accommodations thats why I chose this location. Finally a fire alarm was brought in a replaced but yet you could tell this alarm has previously caught fire. Not to mention iceicles that no matter where you stood near or where you entered the building you could be at any mome

The rooms were clean, my husband and I travel for a living and it was okay for a place to sleep after a long day. I was very disappointed in the incidentals normally provided in the rooms. Your basics that you expect when you reserve your room. There was only 1 very empty roll of toilet paper on the dispenser, 4 squares of tissue max, without a replacement roll. My husband had to go to the front desk and ask for toilet paper. For a room with 2 queen beds there was only, 1 washcloth. The toilet seat was completely falling off, a little time to tighten it down was all it took but as paying guests you would expect if it was properly cleaned, ( which it was disgusting,with urine and fecal matter around the hinges and seat assembly screws) that it would have been addressed and tightened.
