Hotel Jackson

Avoid this hotel – extremely poor conditions. We had a terrible experience during our stay. The rooms had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the hallways smelled even worse. The bathroom was in unacceptable condition, with visible mold and a general feeling of uncleanliness that raised serious health concerns. We checked in around 10 PM and were disappointed to learn that the hotel has a strict no-refund policy—otherwise, we would have left immediately. We endured a sleepless night due to the discomfort and checked out first thing in the morning. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Pictures are deceiving, do not go by the pictures you see on their website.

I've stayed at this motel before when it had its previous owner. I tried to check in on June 21st 2025 and I was told because I have a dog it will be $200 more. I told the owner your out of your mind and I'm not paying it. The motel in my opinion is not a good motel. I have found bugs there before. This time they refused to refund me the money I paid for a room, so if they don't I will be speaking to an attorney.

If you have any sense, you will not stay at Hotel Jackson!! I was able to overlook how outdated the hotel and rooms are but it is very dirty. The carpets were dirty and the bathroom floor had a dead cockroach. I opened the sheets up on the bed and there were crumbs of something all over the bed. Needless to say we didnt stay but the manager/owner would not give me a refund. I am just trying to warn people so it doesnt happen to you as well.

Staff took pictures of my debit card. The room was dirty. The sheets were covered in stains. The shower had mold in the grout. The toilet was covered in pubes. No complimentary breakfast.

Last minute visit to WIU and this hotel is the only one with openings. The staff was friendly. They also offered some snacks. For the price it was a nice room.
