Quality Inn Ithaca - University Area

Hotel and room were clean and seemed to be in good repair. It's an older facility, but seems well kept. Staff was outstanding! A couple of things though... Many of the reviews I had read about this hotel mentioned a couple of specific items, both of which we noted as well. First, the pillows really are uncomfortable! I know it's not the Ritz-Carleton, but it is a place where people pay to sleep... Second - and this is weirdly specific - several other reviewers mentioned stains on the window curtains, and sure enough there were stains on ours as well. Not like they got wet or something - dark splotches. Such an odd thing to see in multiple reviews, right? One other thing - there seems to be some kind of Stephen Hawking gravity well in the bathroom of room 119! The sink is perfectly level,

Not a bad hotel for the price if you're dropping in to see your kids at college. It's inexpensive and reasonably well maintained. Front desk staff was very friendly. Rooms were updated. Beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fresh with a good variety. Great location surrounded by shopping and restaurants. Gripes? Parking lot was really dark. Need a light out there. No daily maid service so it's fine for a night or two but can be a problem for longer stays. Told at check-in that breakfast on Saturday was until 10am but they broke it down at 9. And the biggest problem was the noise. It looks like when they updated the rooms they replaced the typical noise absorbing carpeting with vinyl plank flooring. There are huge gaps under the doors and sound from the halls echoes into the rooms

Positive: The hotel is cleaner but the furniture and bathroom is beaten. Towel hangers and door hinges all have clear rust. For the kind of price they are charging, the room overall quality is poor. Negative: Rust in bathrooms

I was pleasantly surprised by my room. It was affordable and while the space wasn’t large, it was clean and all the furniture felt new. The pillows were uncomfortable which is my main complaint. The bathroom has a heated mirror that minimizes fogging, a nice touch. The shower head did leak a little, (on the side) getting some spray on the floor and toilet. But some of that is on me, as I didn’t pull the curtain fully tight. On the outskirts of Ithaca, but easy access to the town and Cornell. No fitness center, which was disappointing. The online description of the site needs to be updated. Friendly staff.

We did have to change rooms 2x. The first room didn’t lock and the second room had issue with the AC unit and the room had moisture and mold on the curtains. The 3rd room was very clean and nice. The woman working the front desk was so nice, accommodating and quickly and efficiently worked to get all our issues corrected. She was empathetic, friendly and knew what she was doing.
