Quality Inn Dunkirk

It was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The fresh fruit and cookies that were always out was a very nice touch. So was the juice and coffee dispensers. It was reasonably priced. They only downsides were the room wasn't ready at check-in time. Also, they didn't set up the sofa bed, but that was not a big deal. It was also a pet free room.

We did NOT enjoy this hotel. The lobby, the hallway, and the rooms all smelled bad. The carpet in our room was filthy, which seems like a common complaint. Other than the carpet the room was reasonably clean. The bathroom seemed up to date. The person that checked us out seemed disinterested at best. I suspect they can get away with such poor quality and high prices due to their proximity to Niagara Falls. Perhaps we should have driven a bit further.

We came in at 2am actually not planing on stay somewhere but I was too tired to drive. As we came to the counter I asked for a standard room because we were exhausted. The clerk NEVER said he only had jacuzzi rooms left! He only said the rate was $169plus tax. If I would’ve planned to stay, it wanted the Jacuzzi suite I would’ve asked. When we got into the room is when we realized that’s what type of room we had. I was not very happy, but I was too tired to go complain. I used to work in the hotel industry and I know standard protocol is to give somebody a regular room unless ask for something specific. I was half tempted to call the GM on Monday, but I never did because I feel that we were taking advantage of because of the time and the guy knew how tired we were. As for the room, it w

Very polite and friendly check-in. I slept great and the area felt safe for walking my little dog. There were several coffee options in the morning. I didn’t shower or partake in the breakfast. I was mostly happy with the room, however the sink top had not been properly wiped clean. The sink itself was clean but the sink top had dried water splotches. But again, I was mostly pleased with my stay.

We stopped in Dunkirk because we were tired of driving, and saw the Quality Inn near the interstate exit. The Quality Inn Dunkirk met our needs but I would not return there or recommend it. The bed linens and bathroom were clean, but everything else seemed worn: our room carpet had rips and didn’t look clean, and the furniture was scratched. The staff was friendly and helpful. The in-shower bottle of shampoo was empty but the evening receptionist found a small bottle of shampoo in a back storage area. The breakfast buffet was fine — decent variety of choices.
