Quality Inn Cape Girardeau North

I was placed on the 2nd level. They were doing constriction repairs to the ceiling and had a giant mess right in the middle of the hallway near the landing. Water dripping from the ceiling and carts, towels and stuff hanging from the ceiling. Very hazardous and unsightly. Tub in bathroom was old and very unfit and unclean looking. While staff was friendly enough they acted like the hazards upstairs was not a problem. No warning signs or anything, stairs going to second floor landing were filthy. Place needs some attention. Room was clean and well kept.

I usually stay at Choice Hotels on my trips. I chose this location for price and the decent rating. The room was nice and the overall hotel was just okay. The got breakfast in the morning was a waffle maker. A better variety of "hot items" would have been much better. I had my bowl of cereal and checked out.

I recently was going to stay at this property due to having a wedding in Cape Girardeau. Check-in was fine other than the incidental charge, which is understandable if only it were to be refunded upon checkout like they promise. That's only the start of it. So after, I get settled into my room I use the restroom. The toilet was not working properly so the handy man I am, I pull the lid off the tank only to find a bag of used drug syringes in the tank of the toilet. I bring it to the front desk associate at the time and she did not seem surprised at all. I had to remove it myself and throw it away. As I get back into my room I started to notice roaches everywhere starting to come out and run away as I walk through. It did seem the room was poorly cleaned. Also, stains on my bed linen. Well

Avoid this dump at all costs. I walked in and the smell of rot and stale urine hit me so hard I nearly gagged. Then I saw two massive rats by the heater. I went to sit on the bed and saw the sheets were covered in these huge, crusty brown stains and patches of what looked like dried blood. It’s like they didn't even bother changing them from the last person. The carpet was sticky, there was black mold literally dripping off the bathroom ceiling, and the "clean" towels had long black hairs stuck all over them. I told the guy at the desk and he just shrugged and went back to his phone. Absolute nightmare. I left after five minutes and I still feel like I need to burn my clothes and take a bath in bleach. This place needs to be condemned by the health department immediately.
