Candlewood Suites Cape Girardeau by IHG

GM Derrick Charles has a very poor attitude towards guest who have issues. I was being double charged and gave me nothing but rude attitude because I wanted to know what was being charged. I told him he his attitude was sh*t, so he kicked me out a day early. He threatened to call the police and have me arrested for trespassing if I did not vacated within an hour. On my final receipt he wrote “banned”. I have never dealt with any hotel manager with such a disdain. I videoed my room as I left just to make sure they didn’t try something shady, better to be safe than sorry.||I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR HOTEL!!! As long as GM Charles is still in charge.

We stay in a lot of hotels and this was our favorite overall. Even though there wasn’t breakfast, we felt like all the other amenities made up for that. Great pool, fitness center, convenience store, game and meeting rooms. Loved the layout of the room, was more spacious. Mini kitchen was a bonus. All the staff were friendly to my family as well and very helpful. We enjoyed swimming but would request a hot tub or sauna in future! Ha. Will definitely be back to Candlewood!

Disgruntled Review for Candlewood Suites – Cape Girardeau, MO My experience at this Candlewood Suites was nothing short of a nightmare. During my stay, several thousand dollars worth of my personal belongings were stolen. I immediately contacted management, expecting at least basic concern or assistance, but they were completely unhelpful. Their response ranged from dismissive to outright rude, and at no point did they take any meaningful action. I filed a police report, but given the small-town dynamics, it quickly became clear that the police and hotel management were far too familiar with each other for anything to be taken seriously. Everything about this place has been good, the room is great, has stove pot's and pan's, glasses, silverware etc. Full size refrigerator, microwave. There's a indoor pool, a small store, friendly staff, clean rooms, just a great place, the list goes on, iron ironing board, work out room. I recommend this place a 10 out of 10.

I try to get room during the snow day since work the nightshift so call the reservation desk around 5.30 explain then I was going to rent the room from 7 am 6 30pm only I need to asleep before my shift the told me I can make reservation at 3pm I have to be out by 11am when I was not going be room all night because I work night I need the room from 7am to 6pm he shut the phone in me very rude did not let me explain him I need the hotel for during the day to asleep we are nursing workers he shut the phone in me I yes the don't want are money the rules in hours need change special was nursing we work night we need the hotel for 12 hours to asleep before are shift. Very rude that person shut the phone. They losing money not let people check in early in the morning.
