Quality Inn Baker City

We arrived on Thanksgiving Day after a long day of travel. The GM was who greet me at the front desk, and was professional and efficient on check in. She also had prepared an entire Thanksgiving meal for the hotel guests. She mentioned that she had several long term construction crews staying there who couldn't go home for the holiday, so she wanted them to have a good TX meal. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes gravy, pies, all the fixins. It was all home cooked and all very good. Welcome for sure. I had packed deli meat knowing many places would be closed on this day in a small town, but this meal was a delicious replacement. Room was clean. Easy access. It was very enjoyable.

Very friendly lady on reception. She had to ring round to find if the room was ready even though we were well past the check in time but it looked like there was only one woman doing the housekeeping. Room was on the first floor and was just as you would expect from the reasonable price. Comfortable and clean with all amenities. The TV unfortunately did not work very well and kept cutting out but as we were only passing through and either eating out or early to bed we weren't particularly bothered. We ate opposite at the restaurant associated with another motel although there was a truck stop diner right outside if we'd fancied that . Nice free breakfast in the morning which was much appreciated . Drove round and also had a wander round Baker City which seems full of old time heritage

Over all room was decent, but with it not having a full kitchen, and it being in such a remote area, I was looking forward to a hot breakfast of eggs, sausage, bisquits and gravy as I usually enjoy at other quality inns. The breakfast was a real issue again, after long drive us stopping there was for that main reason. We always choose quality inn over other hotels, but this one, didn't meet our standards.

This particular Quality Inn was truly an unexpected pleasant surprise for me. From my first impression of the outside to the friendly interaction with the receptionist to the room itself, I was so impressed by how welcoming everything was. I realize the place has recently been renovated, and it has been done so awith great attention to cleanliness and esthetics. After a very long drive I was delighted to have landed there. I slept great--it was quiet and safe--and enjoyed a nice breakfast, chatting with another traveler. We both commented on how we loved the fact that the rooms had nice clean laminate floors, instead of the (often gross) carpeting in other motels. And the receptionists both at check-in and check-out were nice to talk to. I could tell they truly enjoyed being there.

This newly-renovated place was a delight to stay in. Everything about it is welcoming--from the front office to the breakfast area to the room itself. I appreciated the new laminate floors (no gross carpeting!!!) and the fact that everything was super clean. Best of all were the desk staff--they seemed to love their job and were very friendly and helpful. After a long day's drive, I was so happy to have found a safe, clean, quiet place to stay--and for less than a Boise campground would have charged me! I highly recommend this Quality Inn--it's a gem.
