Quality Inn Amarillo West near Medical Center

This was the worse Choice/Quality Inn Branded hotel I’ve ever seen. I would score a zero if I could. In no way should this be affiliated with Choice or Quality Inn. I will be filing a formal complaint with Choice for even thinking anything was acceptable about our room (see photos)! There is no way any of the photos are current on their website, and should be considered fraud. I asked to cancel the room but was told it was booked with no refunds. I didn’t even get the room I booked, was supposed to be a king bed and we received two queen beds. Kids running around upstairs all hours of the night, sketchy area, not a safe or secure. Helicopters flying overhead all night being across the street to a hospital. Room smoke/carbon monoxide detector well beyond the 10 year life expectancy. Got a c

Positive: it was a convenient location, bed was comfortable, quiet location and the other guests were quiet even the pets. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Nice indoor pool. Negative: The paint was peeling on the walls in the room and all along the top of the shower. The sink stopper was missing and I unfortunately looked down into the drain. The shower was so grungy we skipped it completely. Toilet rocked when you sat on it.

My room was not clean when entering, the shower was cold and I was told to let it warm up. We are both days. We took cold showers. My kids had no signal on the TV. I informed the front and it still was not resolved. But most importantly, my kids found two crack pipes one in the bed and one behind the TV! I was refunded for one night, but I feel that that is not enough and very unacceptable. I left very unhappy, but was down on a work trip so I had to just make do !

Let me preface by saying I normally am a positive review giver and love to relay positive experiences on places I stay. This is my very first review I've ever given that is negative, not so much regarding the physical location, but the employees...horrifically rude. One of the key amenities, the TV, was out due to circumstances beyond their control (cable out). When I reported it the first night of my 3 night stay, the night desk clerk was tolerable, but not really friendly, not what I would consider a customer service personality at all. She informed me that yes it was out, they were having problems with it, and no, there wasn't any chance of me getting any kind of rate reduction or anything of that sort. The second night, still out. I have to laugh at reviews that talk about how dirty the room is and then take pictures of permanent stains on the carpet. What? They should tear out the carpet and install new because someone spilled something and it won't come out? Or complain that the windows in the atrium for the pool were fogged. It's the middle of winter, don't you understand basic physics? Or OMG there's a pulled thread in the carpet! Or complain about the fact that it looks like a previous tenant may have kicked in the door. I'm sure the hotel was not happy about that either, and it seems that they always fixed the problem, so stop your grousing. How much did you pay for your room anyway?
