Quail Hollow Village at Beech Mountain Lakes

This location is great and the resort has potential, but it needs considerable work. We were first put in a unit that had not been cleaned well and the bedroom had been taken over by ants including the bed. They sent a guy over with a can of ant spray which was unacceptable. The place was dirty and the upper deck was off limits due to wood rot. They moved us to "prime" unit on the lake. Beautiful spot but filthy kitchen. Had to clean all the appliances and furniture. Would have been acceptable if the place had been clean. No excuse. Need a new cleaning crew. Vacuum was so full there is no way it could suck up anything. Excellent local restaurants, breweries, and wineries. Also good hiking. A shame the resort was so disappointing and did not reflect the description.

Our stay wasn't the best. I don't mind that everything was dated. It was the fact that there were dirty dishes, cups, utensils.. and the water with the tub was so extremely hot It was a task to give my baby a bath.. now the worst part was the entire place smelled like a cigarette smoker lived there for 50 years. Not exactly their fault but shame on who ever decided to smoke in a non smoking unit. All of our belonging smelled terrible because of it. Don't think we'll be back. Could have been very nice, there's a club house with a pool and mini lake beach.

I began staying at Quail Hollow with friends all the way back in 1991 and eventually purchased my own week in 2013. It's a very secluded and quiet resort with a beautiful lake and decent restaurant/bar. Sadly, I watched as the maintenance and upkeep of the place began to go downhill in 1997 after NACO turned over management to the board. The first year I stayed at my own unit, 2013, the upper deck off the bedrooms was in terrible shape. Lots of splintered wood and rusty popped nails. I told them about the situation when I left that year and honestly thought it would be addressed since it was literally a dangerous condition, but no. When I arrived the following year it hadn't been touched so I took care of the popped nails myself with a hammer I had in a toolkit, and I advised everyone to

The resort was OK. It was very outdated and needed many upgrades. When we arrived to the condo they still had dirty dishes in the sink and the chairs had crumbs in them. We called for house keeping and they did their part in trying to accommodate us. One of the rooms did not have a TV, which I think was a bummer for the kids. The fridge had crumbs in it. Other than that everything else was okay, the view was beautiful. The club house had a lot of fun things. They also had a mini beach , and you could rent kayaks and canoes.

We've been coming here for over 15 years and have always had a good experience. The condos are perfect for whatever stay you are looking for and offer easy access to the lake in addition to being close to the clubhouse, restaurant, and campgrounds. I will be honest to state that the condos are in need of some maintenance and updates and seeing how long we have been coming here, I feel that is a fair review and one that I hope the property managers are planning to address. Otherwise great for families, just wish they would allow pets.
