We've visited this hotel many times over the years, and enjoyed it. It's like a film set for a period piece, a bit artificial, perhaps, but charming, historic and comfortable.|This time, we had suite 103, which boats a panelled sitting room with a propane fireplace, a delightful addition to the bedroom. |We found the staff members pleasant, the food tasty, and the room clean. |But! it's time for an update. The bathroom needs re-doing, the heat needs adjusting (we kept the windows open in below-zero weather!) and the soundproofing just over the bed needs improvement. And perhaps a larger cleaning staff, so used trays don't sit overnight in the hallway, and rooms are tidied before late afternoon? |The lobby smelled of mothballs- perhaps from the holiday decor- and the|stuffed animals in the
Fantastic get a way! Spacious clean rooms, friendly service throughout the entire experience, restaurant dining was fantastic. Dining staff was top notch. My husbands streak was slightly under cooked and our amazing waiter noticed and took it back without batting an eye. Food, dessert and drinks were presented beautifully. Spa treatments were enjoyed as we experienced a couples massage, pedicures, scrubs and a reflexology sessions. Enjoyed tea and infused water while waiting in between sessions. Easy walk to adorable shops and other dining options. Will definitely be back to enjoy a wine tour in the summer.
Positive: Its location. I enjoyed dining in the Noble Restaurant. The room was nice, but a drawback was that the room was not in the main building. Guests should be told in advance if not getting room in the original building. Negative: The service in our room was spotty. The staff didn’t offer help in getting our luggage to the room, even though we had to walk up flights of stairs to reach it.
Price of Wales has a well-known reputation, and we had a great time overall. We were greeted and checked in easily, and kindly upgraded for free to a bigger room with a fireplace without asking. The bellman helped us find parking as there were no spots available when we arrived due to a wedding. The room was clean and spacious, if not a little dated. The shower needed a bit of work in terms of some rusty chips in the wall but was clean and had great pressure. I also always appreciate a place that has shampoo, conditioner etc. mounted on the wall in big bottles instead of small plastic ones that get wasted so often. The bed was quite firm and some of the blankets had some small stains, but the pillows were comfortable. We were given vouchers for specialty coffee, and my only issue with this
As we were staying in a historic place. We hoped to get a room in the same building. We didnt. We had to go out of the building and into another building. The room was ok clean & tidy. We had booked for an evening meal for 8pm, We arrived 7.55pm and was greeted by a lady who asked us if we booked and our names. She said your early which absolutely stunned us. She took our coats as we were not staying in the main building. And then took us to our table which was the main walk way for the waiters. We notice there were plenty of tables around situated in better places than we were at. Our waiter came he was lovely. We asked if we could move. He agreed and said he couldnt understand why she had seated us there. As we were looking at menu she came back and could see we were not happy with
