Pioneer Pocket Hotel

Very limited parking, we had to circle the hotel 3 times to finally get a spot, the rooms were large and decorated very well, but the sound proofing wasn’t great so there a bit of road noise, the shower was small which was odd for such a large bathroom. Great sheets and towels and the bed was very comfortable, the restaurant in foyer had really great food. There is no contact with anyone to check in or out, it’s all don’t via your phone. The ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for service was because there wasn’t really anyone to rate, check in was easy as was check out but if you have an issue there isn’t anyone to speak to except via text.

We were driving from Austin to New Mexico for a little getaway and decided at the last minute to spend the night in Lubbock. I came across the Millsap Suites and it looked like a step up from your average roadside hotel, even though it cost less, so I gave it a shot.||||What a pleasant surprise! The suite was huge and really nicely decorated. Our son slept on the sleeper sofa and said it was actually comfortable. Everything was clean and we loved the mini fridge and water pressure in the shower. The location is FANTASTIC- you are right across the street from the best restaurant in Lubbock and an excellent brewery. We loved the convenience of pulling our car up to our door and not having to use an elevator or steps to carry our bags.||||The only bummer was the lack of blackout shades. There

stumbled across this little boutique hotel by accident what a gym. The restaurant was amazing, we had rack of lamb and a wedge salad. The room was very comfortable roommate and well appointed the bed and linens were very comfortable, and they offered multiple toiletries and towels, more than your major chain hotels. The girl that helped us check in was very polite and very helpful. Definitely a place I would recommend.

Great automated hotel experience. I used to live in Lubbock and visit usually once a year or so. I’ve stayed at a wide variety of hotels, and Pioneer Pocket remains my favorite. A great location with everything you might need in the building - a restaurant, coffee shop and convenience store. Downtown Lubbock is only one small part of the city’s overall experience and Lubbock is not a walking friendly city in general so I always recommend a car to explore. The check in process was easy. The hotel reached out via text to confirm details and to give me general updates leading up to my arrival. Check in details were clear and easy to follow. Things were very clearly marked! I called to inquire about room availability for an upcoming conference, but unfortunately, the woman who answered the phone was extremely dismissive and did not allow me the opportunity to explain my request. This experience was disappointing and reflects a need for improved customer service training at this facility. As the first point of contact, her attitude plays a significant role in shaping guests’ impressions. If potential customers are met with rudeness, it can discourage future business. I’ve also noticed that similar concerns have been mentioned in previous reviews, which is troubling. We didn’t even get the chance to stay due to how poorly the initial interaction was handled.
