Pine Tree Motel and Cabins

The Pine Tree Motel and Cabins is a hidden gem in Chestertown, NY. I booked a cabin here during a family reunion when our house was bulging at the seams, and it was a lifesaver. The Room: My cabin featured two beds and a private bath. It was cozy, well-maintained, and provided a quiet, comfortable sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of a large group. Location: You can’t beat the convenience. It’s located right on State Rt 8, only a couple of miles from the highway and a very short trip (about a mile) to the Loon Lake beach. Overall: Even a few years later, I have fond memories of my stay. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay in the Adirondacks. I’m definitely looking forward to returning!

I chose this place to stay for an excursion into the Adirondacks based on the charming photos on Google maps and the affordability. I'm please to report that Pine Tree Motel and Cabins is a true hidden gem. Cozy, rustic, remote, and surrounded by the almost overwhelming beauty of upstate New York. Norleen is an amazing owner and caretaker and jumped at every chance to make our stay a dream. Being amateur travelers, we over packed for the size of the cabin we stayed in, but that was our fault and otherwise the cabin was more than spacious and well-furnished enough for two lovebirds. 10/10, fully intend to stay here again someday soon. Great little getaway spot. The owners are very sweet and accommodating. They were able to help me and family out with a place to stay for the season so we can work on our property near by. Great people and place.

We stayed three nights here in August and overall it met our expectations. Our rating is a 4.5 with the .5 being for the cabin being a little on the older side. However, the facilities are well maintained and the owners clearly take good care of them. The cabin was pretty snug with the queen bed taking up a lot of space but it was comfortable and clean as was the bathroom which was very good sized considering the overall cabin size. The owners are very friendly and staying here had a personal touch that you will not find everywhere. We would definitely stay here again.

I wish I could give them 10 stars!!! My boyfriend and I stumbled on this place driving ( July 2024) and decided to stay a night due to the day being stormy. Norleen was lovely! After we checked out, later that day we were at a primitive camping site that was infested with mosquitos. We couldn't take it any longer and decided to go back to Norleen's. At about 11:50pm at night I rang the door bell, and Norleen was super gracious and was worried about our return. I explained we didn't want to deal with the mosquitos anymore and tried to hold out. She ended up letting us stay the night without paying first and was gracious enough to let us pay for the room in the morning. Our 2 days spent here was absolutely amazing!
