Pine Lake Resort & Banquets

The Good: The facilities themselves are well-maintained. The rooms were clean, the public restrooms were spotless, and the common area is massive. The kids had a great time in the pool. (Note: The hot tub was out of order during our stay, but that wasn't a huge issue for us). ​The Bad: The management of the common area is incredibly rigid and unwelcoming. They have three "party areas" that require a fee to use. While that’s fine, they will not let you use the tables or chairs even if they are sitting completely empty and unreserved. ​The Experience: Staff is very scarce, but they appeared just to tell us we couldn't sit at an empty table to play cards because we hadn't paid the fee. It got to the point where someone in our group actually had to go home and bring a folding table back to the

Positive: While this is not an "upscale" hotel it has a unique interior that draws you in. The pool is clean and indoor/outdoor and unique from any other hotel I've been too. Negative: I love this place. It has so much potential and I hope to see them do something with the spaces soon ??

Not fancy but everything you need. Very clean. Best bed yet. Eggs and sausage, bagels and other Continental Breakfast items. Don't let the entrance to the rooms-which looks worn- fool you. I'll definitely go there again. They even have a reminder at the checkout, reminding you to rate them bc they're confident.

We didn’t feel comfortable staying with our kids for the night that we paid for. The man working the front desk was very nice, but the realty of the hotel should be disclosed. We really tried to give it a chance, but the building is falling apart, and there is a weird stale smell throughout. It appears the owners recently bought a foreclosed hotel, and opened before fixing all the issues. They’re trying to make it acceptable, but really should close until some basic repairs are completed. We decided to drive home to chicago instead of staying for the night we paid for.

This is a different place. I don't know if they are slowly rentivating or just an older hotel. They are trying but the lingering smell of when you could smoke in buildings still lingers. It has a open center area that is what the confusing part of it as to the purpose for the space. I stayed there for the price the bed was nice comfortable the room had more storage than most hotels. It's not dirty just a little different. In the wide hall infront of your room there is a table and two chairs so you could watch other guest and the open empty indoor courtyard. There is an exercise room and everything worked there. The swimming pool is indoor/outdoor. When this hotel was new probably was very nice interested in if they can bring it back.
