Peter's Mill Run is a lot of fun for the first time off-roaders. Stock Jeeps and most 4x4 and some non 4x4 vehicles as long as you have a locking rear can make the entire trail. It is a lot of fun with awesome surrounding mom and pop restaurants to get some good eats after the trail.

Absolutely love this Jeep trail. Fun trail for anyone. Good beginner trail as well. The Woodstock tower view is amazing. Everyone on the trail is friendly.

Warnings out of the way first. We had zero cell phone coverage during the trial run. We were solo so I absolutely had the 'We are soooo screwed if we get stuck" thoughts.... The trail is not particularly hard, there are some areas that are not part of the actual trail pass that can be complicated but yeah I stayed away from them cause hey solo and no cell service...

The more capable your rig, the less fun this trail seems. For a badge of honor trail it is very easy. Rigs coming up the mountain have the right of way in case there is a lot of traffic up there. At least 9" of ground clearance, AT tires and a true low range will get you through this enjoyable bunny trail.

Great spot for cost-free camping and inexpensive off-roading. Camping is primitive (no water, bath, electric) but the sites are spacious enough to load/unload bikes and have raised tent platforms, fire pits, and picnic tables. Trails aren't well-marked and have lots of fist-size rocks, but they're pretty fun. A competent adult or older kid should be fine riding a dirt bike. Would recommend an ATV for smaller kids (under 13) due to the technicalities of the trail.
