Upon arriving during the evening, the man at the front desk was very rude. He was very combative and confrontational throughout the entire encounter. He spoke to us, especially me, as if we lacked the intelligence to understand what he was saying even when asking questions for clarification. It was not until my boyfriend began speaking to him that he was able to give the necessary information for us to simply get up to our room. The room itself was not bad, the location of the hotel was nice, and the woman at the front desk the next morning was very polite and helpful as well. However, the disrespect and lack of human decency by the man the previous night made it hard to feel both safe and comfortable.

A horrible experience. Booked the hotel beforehand and got a welcome email but when I got there I was told by the very rude owner that my booking was not going to happen. This is at 6 at night. I feel he might sell your booking to others on the night paying more. He is abusive and not logical.

Positive: The staff was very friendly and had provided good recomendstions for the area. Negative: Fireplace was not venting correctly and the smoke alarm went off.

The costumer service at the front desk has a very rude man who was pretty degrading to me like I was literally lectured on rules for their hotel in front of other guests for them to embarrass me. The man at the front was really sexiest until my boyfriend intervened and he was only kind to him so I can tell what kind of service I wouldn’t get which was respect. The room and amenities were okay I liked the microwave, the quiet area, and mini fridge just wish the staff were kinder but definitely look next door to them the Monterey surf Inn downtown has great staff and larger rooms so I recommend that if your booking a room for a wedding or event. Never got my deposit back and I was just scared of the owner to ask because he was unbelievable rude. Don’t recommend this hotel to anyone they are

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs My family and I booked this place last minute when our original plans fell through. The photos looked fine, the price was cheap, and it seemed okay for an emergency stay. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Around 11:30 p.m., our room phone rang. It was the owner, screaming at us to “park better.” When we looked outside, our car was perfectly within the lines, so at first we thought it was a prank. Minutes later, the owner—clearly drunk and in pajamas—was banging on our door, yelling the same thing. He got so aggressive that he raised a fist and threatened us before storming off.
