Jim was a great campground host! Sites and bathrooms were very clean. No cell service but you can drive a few mins down the road to get gps and stuff going. Beautiful spot to camp. 10/10 would come back here!

I recently enjoyed a fantastic 7 day stay at the Peaks of Otter campground. The RV side of the CG fit my travel van needs perfectly and the lady ranger was amazingly helpful as well as professional. My hat's off to her and the rest of the team for maintaining the facility in tip top shape. Campground area details: The trails are well maintained, the lake, picnic and display areas are first rate. Bear in mind that this facility is similar in amenities to most all of the Blue Ridge Parkway campgrounds. There isn't any electricity or water currently at the sites and the RV pads for parking are better suited for campers under 25' or so. However, there are some pull through sites for longer rigs. The bathrooms have flush toilets, sinks, hand soap dispensers and paper towels. There is an RV dump

Such a gem along the Blue ridge parkway. My wife and I couldn't be happy with our stay at The Peaks of Otter Campground this past weekend. Stanley and his co workers made sure to do what they could do make our stay enjoyable. From giving us recommendations for local favorites, helping us relocate our camp site to accommodate our camper van or strictly having good conversation they were there. ||The campground provided us with clean restrooms, fresh water, newly refurbished campsites and close proximity to some spectacular hiking. Some of the parking pads are unlevel and the campsites can be a little walk from the car also the camp store is more of a gift shop than a store so take that in mind when bringing things such as ice and groceries. There are no showers on the property but the local

We left a dirty pan in our campsite (It was still hot from cooking) along with our coolers and a pack of wet wipes while we went fishing. When we got back there was a sign on our site saying our items had been confiscated and needed to be picked up due to the bears in the area. I can understand to a certain degree, but still I think that was too much. The next day my son needed to use the bathroom. When we came back from the bath house, Karen the park ranger was in our site, again, and asked if it was our site. When I told her it was, she said she was going to inform law enforcement that we left similar items out, until I explained to her I had only taken my son to the bath house. Karen was on a power trip and we will never stay there again.

A great location: close to 3 peaks for a good hiking opportunity, and it's located about 10 minutes to Bedford. We visited during a supposedly busy June's weekend, but it was not crowded at all. There are plenty of FF sites and reservable ones, and many were vacant. Have restroomes (non-electric), and the campground overall is clean and not too noisy despite of being closed to highway. Only thing I'd wish it was there was a shower, but unfortunately you have to drive to Bedford's YMCA facility for a small fee (<$4/person), and the facility's business hours don't sync well if you're an all-day hiker. Also, both AT&T and T-Mobile get no signals here.
