This is a beautiful old mansion that has been kept in time. If you stay here you will feel like there is calmness and peace all around you. However the room we stayed can use some maintenance, there were some stains in the carpet that looked disturbing because of the color, and the headboard of the bed had some greasy stains.

Palmer House is a charming, little hotel managed by Restaurant Associates and University Services of Princeton University, and is located right in the town centre, literally a stone's throw away from Palmer Square. I stayed there while attending a conference at the University. The room I stayed in (The China Room) was wonderful -- bright, spacious and well appointed. Breakfast and afternoon tea in the Solarium were also very nice, and so were the hotel's staff. Internet access is complimentary, as are the snacks and drinks available 24/7 in the Solarium area.

This gorgeous, large mansion is run by Princeton University, which is only a block away across Nassau Street. The beautiful old building is set on lovely, manicured grounds that are large enough to offer quiet from the busy streets. Can almost imagine running into George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr -- and no telling who you might see there since the university puts up distinguished alumni there (have a look at the guest book). There's a modest continental breakfast available and packaged snacks. Rooms are a little dowdy as in quaint with antique desks and chairs. One star taken off because the ventilation ducts have dark spots that look unsightly, maybe like mold. Definitely worth taking a stroll and a peak.

This B&B is in a great location within walking distance to everything. The room was large and spacious and clean. It has a very historic look to it, and a lot of the furniture has been preserved and is original. They offer a nice breakfast in the morning in the sun room and have snacks and beverages out to enjoy at all times.

Before booking here, be aware that this is also a venue for extremely loud salsa parties which take place in the floor right under the rooms. The nights I stayed, the music was so loud the windows in my room were shaking. The place is also run down. I would absolutely avoid it if you can.
