Customer Reviews
Recently converted from an independent to a KOA. The layout is unique especially the round RV part with the communal shelter in the centre. It's great to connect with fellow RVers and campers. Quiet and out of the way with all the amenities as you would expect for a KOA. Clean washhouse and laundry room. Only 30 minutes from Anchorage.
Arrived 4:05PM to find the office/general store closed although office hours are 9:00 -5:00. Several late arrival envelopes hung by the door, unfortunately not one with our name on it. While trying to reach - someone/anyone by phone, we watched several campers try to open office door. After leaving two phone messages with no return call, we had to take an unfinished water/sewer only site rather than the electric site we had reserved. Poor management closing office early and not leaving anyone or any contact information for customers.
Last minute reservation cause “I messed our schedule up”, but that said we got a nice pull through with FHU. Lots of spacing between sites with grass, so plenty of places to walk your best friend. WIFI is available but they have a disclaimer that they don’t guarantee you’ll be able to connect (we had Starlink so no biggie). Clean bathhouse/showers and laundry room ($3.50 each). Nice stocked store and pleasant staff. Definitely a Park we would stay at again if in the area. We understood that the owner also owns the KOA in Seward where we stayed and that was a very nice Park as well.
First off, let me preface that I am retired and a meticulous planner who plans and goes on several long RV trips per year. I maintain a spreadsheet with all campground information about my trip detailing site info (PT/BI configuration, electric amperage, sewer/water, etc), price paid/owed, check-in/out dates and times, etc). For this particular four-month trip, I made over 50 advance reservations. Of those 50, the ONLY campground for which I was unable to determine check-in/out time on the website or in the reservation receipt was this one, which back in December 2023 when I made the reservation was called Big Bear Campground and RV Park and was unaffiliated with KOA. I figured that arriving after 1:00 PM would be safe. I was surprised when I pulled in at 1:15 and discovered that it w
Beautiful RV park with clean, spacious showers, convenient laundry room, and helpful owners. The location is out of town and quiet but close by to restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations. I would definitely stay here again. And we did stay here again!
