Outdoor Resorts At Orlando

Been vacationing here for 20 plus years with grandparents and now parents who are residents. This place has completely gone downhill in the last 5 years, no pools open the entire week we have been here. What management doesn’t realize is they are not only making an impression on current residents but potential future ones. The amount of places for sale without any prospects and the amenities the resident pay for that aren’t even functioning is ridiculous. Came here in the spring this year where there was a boil water order for the whole week then as well. Not a reliable place to live and get the bare minimum done. When we purchase our vacation home it’ll be the first time in 3 generations it won’t be at ORO. Very disappointed this place used to be great.

Unfriendly people, overpriced properties, all sorts of hoops to jump through, broken or shut down things (front gate, pool, etc.), horrible HOA leadership with ridiculous rules and not enough quality activities. Don't even think about coming here.

My family has owned property at ORO for years. It used to be an ideal, welcoming community—one we loved and invested in with the hope of creating lasting memories together. But that has completely changed with the implementation of the new background check and security system. Let me be clear: this new policy is absolutely outrageous. I can understand owners being subject to a background check, but to demand our guests—friends, grandparents, extended family—undergo an extensive and invasive vetting process just to stay at our vacation property for less than a week? It’s beyond unreasonable. The amount of personal information required is shocking and entirely inappropriate. We are now seriously considering selling our property. This is not a hotel. 55 and older community, you may rent for a week or a month or more. We own. There is no rule on the books that hasn't been broken. From the use of your own property to the type of dog you own to the fact that there had been 3 men living here under the age of 55 for several years, there may still be one left. If you like nosey neighbors this is the community for you, everyone needs to know everything you are doing in ORO, and they will report you if they don't like what you are doing, even if it's not the truth. We've owned for 2 years and I try desperately to keep to myself, my favorite time to come down is in the summer, no one is around!!!

CONS: Not great for an RV. Didn't know resort is 99% modular homes. Felt out of place with our camper. Also, no shade and small lots. Asked to close to bathrooms. Was put close to pool bathroom. Not told they are closed at night! PROS: Full book ups, Passport America discount, Great pool and amenities. Close to Disney, shopping and restaurants.
