Customer Reviews
I loved the trails and prairie. I was out there for an hour with my dog and did not walk all the trails. The shelter is nice and looks well maintained. Camp sites are closed and all the pits are removed. Big watch out, there may be some sketchy people there. You're either alone, or it looks like people are doing drugs in the praire in the back. Based on the older reviews and the people I saw there during the day ... I can see why the campground was closed.
Beautiful little park off the beaten path! The bathrooms were amazingly clean. The trails were beautiful and just a quiet little place to take your family and walk around. The pond is pretty inaccessible to walk in or playing minus fishing in it but the trails were very pretty and worth a trip out there!
UPDATE: The hike in spots are PERMANENTLY CLOSED AND NOT POSTED AT SITE. THE SITES ARE NOT FREE!! $Pay the $5.00 a night or you WILL get a visit from the warrren county conservation department either that same night, or the morning. Loud drunks, entitled city campers that are not considerate of other campers, they stayed up til about 5am yelling so if you drive that big blue truck you suck a lot. We had to pack everything back out the next day at the hike in spot to a new open site. The guy from dnr that told us was so nice about it, no hate to him he was doing his job. It was just embarrassing for us to have to get kicked out of that spot as they have had ample time to post it on the park map (even if it was a covered piece of paper and on the website/online. We had camped there a mon
Wonderful park. Well maintained trails. Very quiet and peaceful. Great place for a short hike. Be careful, take Roosevelt street if coming from Hwy 65. The other 2 roads are minimum maintenance roads.
Small and quiet. There are only 5 shaded sites. I would recommend tent camping only or maybe a really small teardrop trailer. The spaces are small. Have to go on quite a bit of gravel roads to get there. There is a turn around of you do bring a trailer. There are restrooms but there is no electricity or other hook ups.
