Origin Hotel Atlanta

Check in was easy and quick, and that’s about where the praise ends for this stay. The TV in our room didn’t work…because there was no power. I would have been happy to plug the TV in but they crammed the internet modem and other cables behind the mounted TV so there was no room to see behind the TV to fix anything. When we walked into the bathroom, there was a strange bluetooth connection sound but no info on how to connect to anything. The sound chimes on and off every time you flip the light on. Awesome. To top everything off, we ended up getting home super late and just grabbed some ramen and a mini frozen pizza from downstairs to heat up in the room; however…there are no microwaves in the rooms. No forks or spoons. No plates. No nothing. Front desk had no problem selling us the items

One room Rm#511 did have TV service.  Also, the bathroom non on the sink was very loose water was getting everywhere. However, I was then moved to rm#509. Moreover, despite of that a house keeper by the name of Jay was a tremendous help and host.  If I ever come there again, I desire to see him.

We had a quick staycation here on Christmas Eve. I researched parking ahead of time and found a parking lot directly across the hotel on Pryor Street. It was $25.00 for the night and felt safe. The restaurant is closed until January, so I was glad I planned ahead and brought Firehouse Subs with us. Otherwise, we would have had to order from a food delivery service. I originally wanted to check in at 2:00 (it's $40.00 for an early check in, a bit pricey for two hours) but we were running behind so we didn't get there until close to 4:00. Angel at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. She really made us feel welcome. I love this hotel, it's so different from the usual chain hotel. I love the natural brick and the huge windows. The people are a reason to stay here! Everyone is so friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need. Amazing service!! The hotel restaurant and bar is excellent, great food. Only reason for 4 stars is there weren’t closets or dressers and we like to “unpack” but if you don’t mind living out of your suitcase, you won’t mind! Walkable to Congress conference center which is why we were in town.

The hotel is awesome. Great looking public spaces and rooms. Love the brick walls and the modern design of the room. Bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is great including the water pressure. Cool vanity and towel rack. Staff is exceptionally friendly and efficient and insisted on moving me to another room when a hiccup occurred. Enjoyed my burger very much in the attached restaurant. The location is convenient to both the 5-Points and Garnett MARTA stations as I wanted to rely on public transportation. Just know the location, even though 2 blocks from the capitol, is up and coming. But there's a serious revitalization going on including roadways and buildings being fixed up and a lot of money being spent. Thus there isn’t a lot to choose from F&B wise close by right now but
