Omni San Diego Hotel at the Ballpark

Excellent experience overall. Very clean rooms with good amenities. The staff across the board was very attentive and friendly. The concierge, Robert was so delightful and helpful. Good gym with above average amenities. Well made drinks at the bar with great service. Location is great, safe walking in surrounding area to the convention center, seaport village, and Little Italy. Only complaint is the lack of privacy in the room's bathroom (which isn't unusual).

Positive: Decor, quiet room, location near the trolley, safe street, pleasant staff, pool, restaurant food, microwave available. Negative: Bed a little soft.

⭐☆☆☆☆ – Absolutely Disrespectful Experience I arrived at Omni Hotel Downtown San Diego early Saturday morning (before 5am) preparing for a full day of high-level meetings and errands. The building itself looks impressive — tall glass tower, sleek exterior, great location. I’ve stayed at many upscale properties throughout San Diego, and this was my first time considering Omni. At the front desk, I asked about early availability. I was quoted close to $400 for the night. Fair enough — premium property, weekend rates, I understand. However, I quickly checked Expedia and found the exact same room for nearly $100 less (including taxes). We stayed at the OMNI for our wedding weekend and hosted many of our family and friends there as well. We were so happy with our choice to stay here! The rooms were clean, a great size, and had great views of the water and/or ballpark. All of the staff we encountered were so lovely - we had our dog with us and they were especially kind and attentive to him as well. I'd like to specifically mention Gary who was so kind and helped us each day with our bags and with recommendations. Also, all of the wait staff at Fresco, where we dined every day because it was so good, were absolutely lovely.

We booked three upgraded rooms and were very disappointed. The pool staff were excellent and kind, but the front desk experience completely ruined our stay. From check-in, the attitude was cold and unwelcoming. All of our rooms were placed on the 5th floor even though we paid for higher room categories. The hot water on floors 5–7 was only warm, not hot. The hotel claimed the temperature was normal and that nobody had complained before, which was clearly not true based on many similar reviews online. Only after we said we would measure the water temperature ourselves did they suddenly offer to move us. That felt dishonest rather than helpful. The area around the hotel also felt unsafe with many homeless people nearby. We came to relax and enjoy our trip, but instead we felt disrespecte
